Searching for a Movie Like Stand by Me with a Crane Jump Scene

I'm trying to remember the name of a movie similar to Stand by Me. The scene I recall involves a group of kids climbing onto a crane and jumping into a river. I think someone might get injured, but I'm not entirely sure.

From what I can remember, the movie is similar to The Outsiders. The scene where they jump from the crane takes place at night.

Okay, in the 1959 novel "A Separate Peace" there are several points at which boys jump out of a tree into a river. At one point a boy falls and is permanently crippled.
This novel has twice been made into movies. In 1972, and in 2004.

A Walk To Remember has a similar scene but it's not like either movie you mentioned. It's a romance film.

The opening scene is a "bully" dare scene.

This is the scene I was looking for. Thanks a lot, and I apologize for misleading you. It was the only part I remembered from the movie.

I think part of the confusion is, the novel A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks, takes place in the 1950s, as does The Outsiders and Stand By Me ( which was based on the short story The Body by Stephen King). The film, A Walk To Remember, is set on more modern times, with aspects of the lifestyle of the 1950s.
