On the Hills of troopergate - ACORN!!!!!

Tools

Well dammit I meant Heels, - Palin/high heels....nm..I blew that one.

Two times last week, Obama has said his ties with ACORN , the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, started and ended with legal work he did for the group in 1995.

Did he not conduct training sessions with this org'?

Why are so many Americans shoving this under the rug? Does it not matter, is it a non-issue? If so why?

When asked about being hired by ACORN Obama skirted the question. Sure he was not hired, he did it for free. Oh yeah thats even better.

I digress about the Obama connection.

What about the group itself?

ACORN

Is it alright for taxpayers to foot the bill for awful hiring/training practices, and for these practices to continue till this very day?

Did you know that your your tax dollars are paying for people to go out and fraudulently create fake registrations?

Why is there not one Dem' that is angered by this? Not one I know.

Means to an end I guess.

You're a Genius all the time
Up until two or three weeks ago, apparently, John McCain has been an outspoken supporter of ACORN. He gave the keynote speech at an ACORN sponsored rally two years ago. Tell me why you're not angered by this. Seriously, I understand voter registration fraud is an important issue, but why are you busting your butt to tie Obama up with it?

I don't know enough about ACORN itself to have an opinion one way or the other on it. But I do know that Obama isn't a charter member and even McCain himself has given up on this connection.

I digress - you win

Now:

Lets talk ACORN.?

You're a Genius all the time
From what I have heard of it, ACORN seems to be a pretty cool group. Among many other positive reformation programs, they're apparently committed to getting as many people registered to vote as possible. I think that's a good thing. The fact that a few bad apples decided to register fake names in order to meet some kind of quota and earn a few extra bucks is moot. That sort of thing is inevitable in any of these dealies. I don't necessarily hold ACORN responsible for the actions of such a small faction within the organization. Obviously, I don't want my tax dollars supporting that kind of thing, but it looks like the folks who run ACORN don't want that either.

And I don't begrudge Obama or McCain for having any connection whatsoever with the group.

Lets talk ACORN.?
ACORN's priorities have included: better housing and wages for the poor, more community development investment from banks and governments, and better public schools.
Commie bastards...

A system of cells interlinked
I think, for the most part, they are a good organization. Just get the government out of it, and get more businesses involved in supporting them, and I would really like them. I won't blame them for the conduct of some of the people in the program, as it seems clear to me they didn't go out specifically looking for people to abuse their system.

I can't blame the program for these questionable actions, just like I won't blame Palin for not controlling the actions of her supporters at a rally.

Adi - Do you maybe feel like posting some thoughts on any of these issues? Is it just more fun to toss out lil one liners?

Just for the record. Libertarian policy centers around strong community, and groups like ACORN, just without government involvement. I like groups like this. Corruption is inevitable in any organization. I think better public schools are incentive enough to support something like this.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
I'm not up to speed because I haven't been driving my car too much lately with the radio on, and I stopped looking at the Front Page of the newspaper except to see if I won the Lotto. What is it this time? ACORN ain't doing the census anymore, are they? I already know that ACORN is as corrupt as the DNC, the RNC, the Judicial Branch, the Legislative Branch and the Executive Branch. So, what instigated this post?

P.S. "Please Sir, I want some more."

Well I have to say that the level of corruption seems to go from top to bottom, or so it appears. Voter fraud, extortion, embezzlement, etc....

Also you will not see much reporting on this, at least not until now maybe.

Oh, but that "network" we do not speak the name of has a little bit to say:
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2009/...-media-ignore/

Now I do understand that this may be quite a bit edited - but for the most part "they" are busted if this is a true video and not a scam. Which granted it could be. But more video keeps coming up.

With all the tax money this place gets the "specialist" could at least put on a sweater or something.

I am quite curious as how the hell this is not "news"? The fairness doctrine must be writ with a hammer and a sickle on the backside of an Eagles skull.

honest, equitable and balanced

Indeed.

I can't watch the video, but I heard something on the news about a prostitute trying to open a low income brothel with ACORN.

I really wonder why people get such pleasure out of saying ACORN is corrupt and why it is so important that Obama did some legal work for them. So what does that prove?

Nothing really.

I'm afraid the words "organization is found to be corrupt" shouldn't be a suprise to anyone.

Now, "Organization found to be completely clean and always tell the truth, no matter how unpallatable" that would be news. Actually, that would probably mean you were asleep and dreaming... Nevermind... Carry on.
