SWAN'S MOVIE THREAD

In this thread I will discuss my feelings about films and cinema in general. Or just post pictures. Or do whatever the hell else I want! My thread! MINE!

P.S.: This was original two separate threads: a horror thread and a non-horror thread. I decided it was useless having two different threads about movies, so had them merged.

RATING SYSTEM:

- One of the all-time greats - a rarity.
- A masterpiece.
- Fantastic beauty.
- Great, very memorable.
- Good, somewhat memorable.
- Forgettable.
- Bad.
- Very bad.
- Horrible.
- So bad I scoff at it!

Best Thread ever confirmed.

Awesome!

Thanks everyone!

First up, Shindler's list-
I've been expecting something like that all day.

What a wonderful idea, dear.

So, have you seen The Changeling ? Well, I already know that you've seen Halloween, or should I say, the best movie on Earth.
I have, definitely a good one as I recall, but it's been years so maybe it's time for a rewatch.

Take Cole with you. I can't get that kid, to watch that movie, to save my life. It's free to watch right now on YouTube. Maybe you can work up a commentary on it.

Updated main post with rating system. Going to try to be a bit stricter with my ratings from now on. We'll see how it goes.

Going to kick the night off with a rewatch of last years highly acclaimed throwback horror, It Follows. Do I like it, though?

Yes, I do!

The soundtrack for It Follows is one of the best all year.
Honestly, I'm trying to think of one that's better or even as good, and I'm coming up short.

It Follows is a love letter to Carpenter/Halloween, and just 80s horror in general. Carpenter himself loved it apparently.

Music and camerawork were amazing in It Follows. Cant say the ending was as well though.
The director was explaining the ending was basically like a Scooby Doo trap gone wrong, if I remember correctly. I understand the complaint, but I feel like that understanding of it makes it better. I never had a problem with it, but then I'm not too picky about cinema anymore. I like to think about the positives, not the negatives.
