Wow, what an amazing film!

Did you know that both "The Green Mile" and "The Shawshank Redemption" were written by Stephen King?

Both movies are so amazing I can barely find words to describe them. You hate Percy so much in 'Mile'...just like you're supposed to. At first the ending bothered me a bit, but overall I decided it was better that way...

American Beauty? Sorry, this movie was much better and was totally robbed of the Best Picture Oscar.

yeah, the ending bothered me a bit too

Not surprising...but if you think about it, the ending made the movie better on the whole...its more likely and had more of an effect...the truly great movies are ones that don't follow your typical hollywood script where everybody lives happily ever after.

I just started reading the book a few days ago. At one point one television I saw the part where Coffey was in the chair and had said something like, "please don't put that on me, I'm afraid of the dark". I'm sure those aren't the exact words, but it was very emotional from what I remember, so much so I decided to come back to it when I found the time.

The other thread about the movie had a lot of harsh reviews on it. Anyone care to explain why they thought it was what they thought?

Sorry Harmonica.......I got to stay here.
Loved Sam Rockwell in that movie. btw, if you are a Sam Rockwell fan, check out Box of Moonlight with him and John Turturro. Kind of a strange little independent flick, but Rockwell is really good in this one...
