You're not bored. You're lazy.
That's part of it, but it's something of a paradox...
I am lazy in some respects, but once I start working I'm like a workhorse - almost like I can't stop. I'm also a perfectionist, so every task ends up taking me far longer than I'd anticipated. Knowing these aspects in advance, I'm a bit afraid to start anything knowing how it will consume both me and my time.
Anyone else like this?
Reminds me of something I once heard on one of those Hoarder shows - a psychologist said these apparently lazy, disorganized, out of control people are ACTUALLY perfectionists!
And that is part of their problem - they actually want things super organized in their minds, but as they acquire things they begin to realize they cannot organize things to the level they want, so they become overwhelmed and give up trying with the attitude that if I can't have things the exact way I think they are supposed to be, then it's not worth working on any of it gradually. The other part of their problem is they keep acquiring stuff and / or won't get rid of anything, and soon they are buried in mounds of disorganized stuff.
Don't know if that's true or that it would apply to all hoarders - but I think there is something to it on some level.
