2025 MoFo Fantasy Baseball: Draft/Signups

First thing's first: if you're not in this league already, there may be room for you! I should warn you that it's a competitive league, so you'll want to have played fantasy baseball before, and while it's not strictly necessary to have played Roto-style before it's a big plus. If you'd like to play just reply and say so, and we'll do our best to make room. Please note that we give priority to a) returning owners and b) more active forum users.

If you're a returning owner, please take a moment to ensure your email address with Yahoo is correct, and if it's not, please PM me the address you're using right away so I can update it accordingly.

I'm thinking Saturday, March 8th for the draft, around the usual time (1:30 PM ET/10:30 AM PT). I need everyone to please reply by letting me know your availability. If you can, please preemptively include availability the rest of the day and/or previous weekend.

Also please note that you must confirm your involvement even if you're a returning team. If I don't hear from you, either in this thread or via PM/profile comment/post comment/carrier pigeon/whatever, you won't be able to play. It's a simple way to hedge against inactive owners and, frankly, I think it's a fair way to give new people a chance to join the league.

I'd like to play again. Available for both dates as far as i know. I know i haven't been very active here the last few years so if theres a surplus of new people that want to try this game out I'd be willing to step away. But if not then game on. I'd love to see if i can get my sh*t together enough to derail the yoda train before he wins this thing like 10 times in a row lol

I definitely have one guy I work with that would like to play in our league. Hes Fantasy saavy but hasnt done Baseball before.
Another guy I work with actually played in the minors, he said he would like to play, but seems busy, Idk

I haven't been losing enough at fantasy so I'm in. Plus, I want to see just how fast I can run through my innings pitched this season. I can do it by September. I know I can. Dates are fine.



I have a question about fantasy. My family wants to start a baseball league. Is head to head better/easier for beginners? I know my family pretty well and I'm worried that if we do roto a few of them are going to give up once their teams start sucking. I've never done head to head but it seems like it could keep interest if for no other reason to give bragging rights at family get togethers - "Yeah, my team is ***** but you know what? I beat you" type of talk.

Honestly, yes. In terms of pure game design, fairness, "feeling" like baseball, the answer is "roto" for all that...but for simplicity, particularly for new players, yes, head to head is probably the way to go.

I'm in. I didn't see till now. Prefer March 9th. 8th would be dicey but I'd try to make it still. Morning of 8th also makes it easier.

Hello, folx! I am ready to play pretend baseball with you all once again. My availability:

March 8th -- The proposed time works. I'm doing another draft that same day and hosting people at my house for it. The time for that is still TBD (and I live in PST), but starting at 1:30pm EST, or earlier, would be good.
March 9th -- I should be free for most of this day, but 1:30pm EST or later would be preferred.

The weekend before, we're actually going to AZ for the weekend for spring training. I could theoretically draft from my phone either day if needed.

I am in for sure - I am just confirming that I don't have any commitments for those draft days - I will let you know later today!

I know my guy wants in but forum members get time to join first, I understand.

I'd also just say if we are gonna ask someone in from the outside, they probably shouldn't be completely new to roto. Unless we literally can't find anyone else.

Oh, hes a Tim type, and a shark at Fantasy Football. Ill can give you or get his number so you can talk to him first, and i think youll get a good read. Hes the type that needs no curve.

I would really prefer not to, as I still haven't figured out how to enjoy baseball and play fantasy at the same time, but I'm here if you need me.

Okay, the moment we're looking at 10, which would be pretty low/the minimum, I think. So we're poking around for one or two more (depending on how much we want to rudely impinge on Lamb's enjoyment of baseball) in the next week or so, if possible.

If you need someone I can join. I did have fun. Issue that arrived was last year I became so busy at work during the summer it wasn’t easy to keep up with it everyday.
But I can join and will try to be more competitive this year.
Oh, and March 8 works just fine for me.
