Movie You're Watching Tonight

Films we'll be continuing tonight:

The Sun in a Net -- a beguiling Czech film from 1962, i feel that my best experience with it is still to come, there are many like this.

The Other Side of Hope -- late Kaurismaki about topical things like refugees, good sober stuff, but not too emotionally taxing, leave that for some below.

Tales from the Gimli Hospital -- i genuinely adore this quirky lil oddity, the music and bizarre goings on.

Casino Royale -- dad loves these kinds of action flicks

Distant Voices, Still Lives -- Terence Davies masterpiece here has what it takes to help one see things in a more well rounded way, with much singing through the heartache of poor parenting, and war, memories both sad and elegiac.

Gone with the Wind -- trusty old classic, i love it, but the only person online i spoke about it with called it a snoozefest, what??!! This is filled with quotoable quotes and high drama, epic in a wholesome way.

Unforgiven -- Clint Eastwood's western was made in our province here in Canada, my chiropractor knew one of the extras.

Unbreakable i feel that it might be nice for someone hurting to be watching a movie about someone who can't be hurt.

I don't actually wear pants.
Vis I am losing some steam with a game I've been playing this week, I'm going to try to watch Casablanca this evening. I have watched the movie once, except that was a decade and a half ago or so so I thought I'd give the movie another go. I remember liking it although I fail to recall many details. Just to clarify, the game is excellent. I just need a small reprieve from it due to my short attention span. I haven't given up on it or anything.

I hate insomnia. Oh yeah. Last year I had four cases of it, and each time it lasted three months.

I found it. Thank you for the tip. I have saved it to my list for when I am ready to buy it.
This film is from Finland but most dialog is in English with some Finnish and German.

It has one of my favorite Finnish actors in it

I love films from Finland.

That sounds like a good package deal of a movie. I'm glad it worked out for you.

I'm in the middle of Casablanca and there's more to it than I remember. I mean that in a positive manner. Really it's quite good. I'm just getting a fatigue headache (not from the movie) (it's from the insomnia this week) so I'm going to take a shower and see if that helps and then see about resuming it.

Still trying with Biblical films. Can’t speak at all now. Voice totally gave out. Good job I squeezed my presentation in last week.

I love this. Incredible.

One of my favorite Cronenberg films. Michael Ironside is always the superlative villain!
Classic Ironside, Ironsiding.
