Mr. Neville (Anthony Higgins) in Peter Greenaway's The Draughtsman's Contract

A talented, not especially bright artist who can't help being arrogant and smug even when he knows he's out of his depth. Neither his motives nor his conduct are innocent (nor are they entirely understandable) but you can't help laughing with him at some of his ridiculous enemies.

What about Bruce Willis' character in Die Hard? I don't know if anyone posted that yet and I know it's not an intellectual film but hey he's basically a good guy that has to do messed up stuff throughout the movie. Someone enlighten me because i just may be up too late and am thinking wrong.

How about the burglar Robin Hood in Prince of Thieves? He is loved by the masses but hated by the authorities.

How about Spawn or The Crow?

I totally agree with The Man with no Name, Mad Max, and Snake Plissken.
