Movie Ident help - Boy in woods (After running away)

I have been for the longest time looking for a movie i saw when i was a kid of a boy who i believe witnessed his father leave his mom in one scene. I remember he runs away and lives alone in the woods. He builds himself a home with logs at one point a bear attacks him and destroys his place. I also recall him diving in a lake near him where a plane crashed and he finds this item he has no clue what it is and it turns out to be a plane beacon which is how he is found in the end.

I hope this helps, any idea what it could be would be greatly appreciate it. my memory on it is foggy but that's as much as i can remember.
