R.I.P. James Horner, Oscar and Grammy-winning Composer

Tools

I was just thinking last night we didn't have a thread about the passing of James Horner. Very sad that he died in an accident.

My favourite score of all his brilliant work is Field of Dreams. I love that film anyway but the music sends shivers up my spine, it's fantastic

Yes, this is very sad. He created great scores for films. One of those composers like John Williams where if they don't show his credit at the first of the films, you recognize his compositions anyway. Love his music for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan; Aliens; Cocoon; Field of Dreams:Braveheart, etc. etc.

He'll be missed for what he may have created for the future but he leaves behind a great body of work. Godspeed, James.

Always sad to see a loss in the industry, especially with someone this great.
Rest in peace

Jeez... watching the special features for Wrath Of Khan, bearing in mind this was made years before Horner's death and Nimoy's death.

The interview with Horner talking about his process for the movie's music, and it ends with Spock's death scene and saying "Live long and prosper".

Double whammy ending, maan!
