Tools

1 Bob Dylan-Desire
2 Rolling Stones - Black And Blue
3 ACDC dirty deeds
4 Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key Of Life
5 Temptations - Wings Of Love. totally underrated
6 James Brown-Bodyheat. JB was losing it but he still had bits of it!
7 BRIAN ENO music for films
8 Herbie Hancock - Secrets
9 GRAHAM CENTRAL STATION - mirror. not wild about this one
would also say Bryan Ferry - "Let's Stick Together" but comps are cheatin

in hindsight, the year kind of looks like a barren beachhead with the tide withdrawn, bracing itself for the tsunami of '77...

Herbie Hancock. VERY tasty.

Not an album, but Emmylou Harris' 1976 single release of a lovely cover of Buck Owens' Together Again is one of the most gorgeous country songs I've ever heard. I like Buck's 1964 original version (the steel solo by Tom Brumley is considered one of the most beautiful ever), but I think my favorite might be Buck and Emmylou's duet recording of the song from 1979.

Bootsy's Rubber Band - Stretching Out in Bootsy's Rubber Band

Coney Island Baby - Lou Reed (he just wants to do it for the coach)
Presence - Led Zeppelin (don't hate, it's the secret great LZ LP)
I Want You - Marvin Gaye
Amigos - Santana
Sparkle - Aretha Franklin
The Visitation - Chrome
A New World Record - Electric Light Orchestra
The Jacksons
801 Live
Clones of Dr. Funkenstein/Tales of Kidd Funkadelic - P-Funk

Wings Over America

I do have some soft spots for the FM classic rock, so I wouldn't kick the Billy Joel, Steve Miller, Bob Seger or Queen to the curb, but I probably would be a lot more selective of specific tracks rather than the entire albums.

The Visitation - Chrome
Massive disappointment. After years of pining for a reissue it finally came in 2013... and it's not a sliver of a patch on the 4 or so lp's that followed. Didnt help I was expecting the moon in a stick.

Boston (arguably the best debut ever)
Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
Rush - 2112
Frampton Comes Alive
The Ramones
Hotel California
Fly Like an Eagle
Steamboat Annie
The Runaways
The Pretender - Jackson Browne
Wired - Jeff Beck
Silk Degrees - Boz Scaggs
Blondie
Live: Bullet - Bob Seger
Chicken Skin Music - Ry Cooder
At the Speed of Sound - Wings
Blow Your Face Out - J Geils Band
Alice Cooper Goes to Hell
Still Live - Van der Graff Generator
Joan Armatrading
Year of the Cat - So Stewart

A pretty Dam n fine year!

I haven't paid any attention to the post-Whitfield Temps.

It's not that bad! Helios Creed brought a lot to the mix, obviously, but the LP still has some moments.

I've listened to and can vouch for all of these being worthwhile. The top two would be the priority.
