70s-80s movie where woman gives birth to puppies

I can't remember what this movie is called. It was kind of old and came out around the same time as Bambi, bc it was recorded on the same VHS tape. It was a movie in color with live people and the lead actor I thought was Dick van Dyke but might not have been, but the man and wife are driving down the road and his wife is in labor. They go to the hospital and instead of a baby the wife had puppies. It's played off as a light comedy.
