The Mofo Top 100 of the Nineties

Here we are, months later, and we finally have a list. Looking at the list I get the feeling that what we're dealing with here is something special, something that glows with such illumination, power and mystery that it needs to be stored in a vault...or even a briefcase of sorts.

But rather than keep it all to myself I might as well start posting. Sure, I toyed with the idea of keeping it back for awhile while you all discussed animal cruelty - but that wouldn't be fair.

54 lists with a total of 416 individual movies! That's quite the achievement so give yourselves a pat on the back. Those of you reading this that didn't submit a list, don't give yourself a pat on the back. Why are you here? Get out!

Now before I get started I would like to acknowledge those films that got only one point. That's right, one single, measily point. Someone thought to add the movie at the end of their list, maybe strategically or maybe not, but that would be the only vote these films would receive.

A Very Brady Sequel
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey
Dead Alive
High Art
Jidlo
Khrustalyov, My Car!
Lone Star
Manhattan Murder Mystery
Moloch
Mother Dao, The Turtlelike
Primal Fear
Quiz Show
Run Lola Run
Sniper
The Prophecy
Universal Soldier

The films were first ranked based on the amount of points they received. Members submitted their top 25 lists and the films listed were awarded points accordingly: 25 for 1st, 24 for 2nd, and so on until 1 point for 25th place. If there was a tie in total points then it would be decided on which film appeared on the most lists, and this did happen. If they tied in the number of lists they were on then it would be decided on which film had the highest ranking on a submitted list, and this did happen. If they were still tied after that both films were disqualified...or it would be decided on their next highest ranking on a submitted list, and this did happen. But that's it, it never went further than that.

A list of members who submitted a list can be found here: http://www.movieforums.com/community...d.php?p=874804

Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

I did not vote for any of these movies, which means that every single one of the movies I did vote for got at least one other vote. This gives me hope!

ETA: Harry Lime edited and it's one point not just one vote. Damn.

Was it one point or one vote, because I have one movie on my list that I'd be really surprised if it ended up on someone else's list.

Really surprised I was the only one with Quiz Show on my list. That's a good movie, dang it!

Don't like Con Air and haven't seen the other, but it looks interesting.

So glad this has started. Yea!
