I check out everyone's Top 10, the "Rate The Last Movie", and anything else, and try to get a good grasp of people's tastes. I hope to use this more in the future as I have 30-40 movies I want to see, just don't know how to prioritize them.

So, each person can put a movie, and others can say if you'd like it, and possibly give another recommendation?

Do you guys think I'd like "The Unforgiven" (1960)?

It's pretty mediocre as far as Westerns go (while since I watched it), but enjoyable if you like the genre. So yes if you like Westerns and don't mind a 'filler' movie of sorts. But no if you don't typically enjoy Western films.

The Man From Earth (2007)?

"The Commune" (Peter Watkins)... I don't want to read any reviews, so I thought I'd ask. It's a 6-hour long movie, so I wondered if (a) anyone saw this movie before, and (b), if you think I'd like this.... I've always been interested in non-traditional living, and have lived that way for periods in my life.. I also remember a movie Watkins did called "Punishment Park". It was creative, but not something I enjoyed.

The full movie is on YouTube

Did you ever see The Unforgiven? I bet you didn't care for it, but I thought it was pretty darn great. Well take a look at my top 10 and see if you can recommend me a movie or two I'd like.

Sorry if I'm rude but I'm right
I have 30-40 movies I want to see
*Looks at his watchlist containing some 2200 movies*

"The Commune" (Peter Watkins)
Sure, I've seen it. It's hard to say if you'd like this. Watkins' approach of "what if TV existed back then" is a refreshing one, but not something he hadn't tried before. Maybe try the shorter yet just as good Culloden (1964) first. He uses a similar approach there.

Look, I'm not judging you - after all, I'm posting here myself, but maybe, just maybe, if you spent less time here and more time watching films, maybe, and I stress, maybe your taste would be of some value. Just a thought, ya know.

Thanks, I'll try and watch "Culloden" first. I just checked my IMDB watch-list... 1,517 movies.

I still haven't seen it. I'm not sure what I've recommended for you, but you seem to have a liking for minimalist movies (as I do as well), and would recommend "Shadows in Paradise", which is in Finnish.

Culloden would be something I would be interested in. I love to read about that war. I like reading about most wars.

I was going to watch this, after seeing it was on Amazon Prime, and as I click on it, I get "Not Available At This Time". My 2nd choice was some Bogart movie, also unavailable.. I'm only using the free trial, but if I had no choice, I wouldn't pay for it and the lack of choice/quality. Netflix is only 1% better because it has some stand-up comedy, but it's another free trial that I've barely used, even though I try to watch only those two lately, since I can watch YouTube anytime.

I hear ya, I currently have Netflix for the next 3 months as someone gave me a gift care for it...but there's next to nothing that I want to watch on it.

I'm interested in 1900 but it's about 5 hours long. Would I like it?
I bought this movie at a thrift shop, and realized when that tape ended there was more. I was interested when one of the characters was mentioning how fascism was "the way", and thought "Hmmmm, something new, as opposed to the usual socialistic stuff".. I didn't know it was that long, but with any movie that long, if you see it going nowhere, I'd move onto something else. With any movie, I usually see what else the director did.

Would I like any of these films/which one should I watch first?
  • Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion
  • Missing
  • Amadeus
  • The Bad and the Beautiful
  • Leave Her To Heaven
  • The Darjeeling Limited
  • Walkabout
