Best Performance

Tools

Who do you think gave a realy great performance in a movie. Even if you don't like the movie or actor. And say if it was the best performance of their carrier or something if you want to.

I realy liked Ed Norton's performance in "Fight Club" and Brad Pitt was great also. What can I say I'm just a sucker for everything "Fight Club".

But I think the best performance by anyone ever is Sean Penn's performance in "I AM Sam".

I also liked;

Jim Carrey - In any of his movies (Funniest man in the world ever)
Ed Norton - The Score
Toby Maguire - Spider-man 1+2
Sean William Scott - Dude Where's My Car?
Brad Pitt - Troy
Denzel Washington - All his movies, especialy in Training Day (Bad Ass)
Jackie Chan - All of his earlier movies
Eminem - 8 Mile (He could act and rap)
Sylvester Stallone - Rocky movies
Jake Gylinhall - Donnie Darko
Samuel L Jackson - All his movies
John Travolta - Pulp Fiction + Face Off
Nicholas Cage - All his movies
???????? - Full Metal Jacket (Drill Instructor)

There are alot more that I can't think of...

Please feel free to express opinions on my choices (I think I'll get some stick for the Sean William Scott coment but I thought that everything he done in that movie was hillarious) and show your own.

Clearly the best performance in The Good, the Bad & the Ugly is Eli Wallach as Tuco. Eastwood does much better work as an actor in Tightrope, The Beguiled, Bronco Billy and of course Unforgvien to name but a handful. He's iconic as The Man With No Name, but I wouldn't say he's exactly straining his acting muscles.

Standing in the Sunlight, Laughing
Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs springs to mind.
John Cameron Mitchell in Hedwig and the Angry Inch...
Richard E. Grant in Withnail and I...
Steve Buscemi in Living in Oblivion...
Hank Azaria in The Bird Cage...

Are you jocking he ruled in that movie I can't imagine anyone else playing achilies. His acting was great and he rueld the action scenes showing true action star potential. I'd like to see him star in an action movie.

Does anyone agree with me?

Oh man, I completely forgot bout Face Off. Great movie.

-- Every Ed Norton role, the man is brilliant
-- Ethan Hawke in Before Sunset (I'm sure the same goes for Before Sunrise, but I've never seen it). Only a great actor can pull off 80 minutes of pure dialogue.

Oh, one more thing ... what about Brad Pitt's 12 Monkeys role???
