If you're going to try to knock Blockbuster for not carrying a movie, atleast pick a good movie. Battle Royal With Cheese sucked goat turds. Use this example. A Blockbuster in Portland, OR didn't carry Goodfellas. Who doesn't carry a copy of Goodfellas in a video store?

There's good movies in your collection. Just sort of seems like the shotgun approach though. Buy enough movies and eventually you'll end up with some good ones.

On a personal note I never really understood why people bought tons of DVDs. Check em' out, save some money for a girlfriend or something, some noodles or whatever. Honestly, how many times can you watch Van Helsing? Unless it's over 5 times, you've lost money. I mean come on, you've got The Last Unicorn, sell it and ones like it and get some good ones/better ones.

Well Battle Royale would never be on R1 DVD cause Toei ( the distributor) refuses for an American release, the only way to get a R0 DVD is to buy it on-line.

Well Pimp, i did enjoyed Van Helsing for brainless fun entertainment and The Last Unicorn is definitely a great animated movie, i bet you got a erection when saw Amalthea ( white haired chick) nude, right? ha hah ha ha.

You must have confused me with someone that has enough taste and class to be offended by that. I suggest you go HERE and scroll down to the 4th post by someone named PimpDaShizzle. Just in case you're easily confused, that's me, PimpDaShizzle. Can't you remember anything?

I have so many Blockbuster horror stories I should write a book. I don't see why people rent there when they can rent from Ma and Pa owned video stores. I have a really good one in the shopping center by my house. They have been slowly buying older titles on DVD and I must say, they're well caught up. They also do requests which I take advantage of often.

You are missing a few don't ya think, or maybe take a few out and replace them with something else. I noticed there is no Gummo . I am hurt. j/k. Not many of the movies I really liked and I don't tend to bother buying a DVD if it is something I don't like. I am wondering if you actually like all those movies? Doesn't matter, but I would give it a 3/10.

Like God or Jesus or some prophet was sayin', every great thing needs a great foundation. The house built on sand sinks or something while the one built on stone remains big and awesome. Take this into mind when you decide to make a collection. Get some Kurosawa, Hitchcock, Kubrick, Welles, Lynch, Williams, Greenaway, etc, etc. It might not even be your taste, but it's almost necessary if you want to pass off a seemingly large investment as worth while. If you kept your collection to yourself I would say, "Who cares, your movies are your own taste buy whatever the hell you want." But, since you want people to think about your collection, atleast take the time to search out some classics. Even if you went to the Criterion Collections page and used that as a starting point. What would a car collection be without an over priced import and a muscle car - just a bunch of Hondas and rice grinders, that's what kind of car collection it would be. I just want to see you be happy, that's all.

I just buy the movies I like, and got a few free with my DVD player (BASEketball).

I'm going to put together a list of mine. I got some good ones that I like, I'll just put my dvd collection though cause if I included VHS it would be way too long. I got many old classics on VHS at least from disney like the original releases of Aladin,Beauty and The Beast, The Little Mermaid. But yeah, I will get to my list.

Not a bad collection... Certainly quite a few films there I wouldn't own, but to each his own. I think PimpDaShizzle was correct in saying you need to invest in a few more classics. I'm all for stupid comedies and horror movies, they can be great escapist entertainment and will always have their place, but you'll find movie watching much more enriching if you begin to appreciate the classics.

I would also recommend picking up a book on film study... It might help you to learn to appreciate film as an art.

The Mrs. and I are working on cataloging our collection. Hopefully it will be done sometime in the next few weeks. I'll try to remember to post a link... it will be interesting to see what ya'll think.

On a side note, if you had asked me a month ago how many times I would type PimpDaShizzle over the course of my life I would have loudly said zero... and now here I am writing it on a regular basis!
