More Sinatra (or Liza Minelli, if you prefer):

Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it - New York, New York
These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it - New York, New York

I want to wake up in a city, that doesn't sleep
And find I'm king of the hill - top of the heap

These little town blues, are melting away
I'm gonna make a brand new start of it - in old New York
If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you - New York, New York

New York, New York
I want to wake up in a city, that never sleeps
To find I'm a number one, head of the list,
Cream of the crop at the top of the heap.

These little town blues, are melting away
I'm gonna make a brand new start of it - in old New York
If I can make it there, I'm gonna make it anywhere
It's up to you - New York, New York

Now With Moveable Parts
Art...how brave of you to chase Mettalica down with a little Sinatra. That's like chasing Rum...with Kool-Aid. No wait, I take that back...Sinatra is classier than Kool-Aid...he's...um...Snapple.

That's ok I love Sinatra... see I already put up a Sinatra tune. I like everything from Beethoven to Slayer to Garth Brooks.... as long as it's good I'll listen to it

even Prince has a time and a place...

Now With Moveable Parts
Well I guess I should have known
By the way you parked your car
Sideways, that wouldn't last.
Say, you're the kind of person
That believes in making out once,
Love 'em and leave 'em fast.

I guess I must be dumb
Cause you had a pocket
Full of horses, Trojan,
An some of them used

But it was Saturday night
I guess that makes it alright
And you say, What have I
Got to loose?
CHORUS:

Little Red Corvette,
Baby you're much too fast
Little Red Corvette,
You need to find a love that's gonna last.

I guess I shoulda closed my eyes
When we drove up to the place
Where your horses run free

Cause I felt a little ill
When I saw all the pictures
Of the jockeys that were there
Before me.

Believe it or not
I started to worry
I wondered if I had enough class
But it was saturday night
I guess that makes it alright
And you said, Baby,
Have you got enough gas? Ah Yeah!
CHORUS:

A body like yours
Oughta be in jail
Cause it's on the verge
Of bein' obscene

Move over baby
Gimmie the keys
I'm gonna try
To tame you're
Little Red Love Machine!

Girl, you got an @ss
Like I've never seen
And the ride, I say the ride
You must be a limousine!
CHORUS:

*Hmmm...what does it mean? This song...I dedicate to myself..Thank you very much!

Now With Moveable Parts
IF
____

Sittin' over here
Starin' in your face
With lust in my eyes
Sure don't give a damn and ya
Don't even know I've been dreamin' of ya
In my fantasies
Never once you looked at me
Don't ya even realize I've been wantin' you
To fulfill my needs
Think what you want
Let your mind free
Run free to a place no one dares to
How many nights I've laid in bed excited over you
I've closed my eyes and thought of us a hundred different ways
I've gottin' there so many times I wondered how bout you
Day and night
Night and day
All I want to say is:

If I was your girl
All the things I'd do to you
I'd make you call out my name
I'd ask who it belongs to
If I was your woman
The things I do to you
But I'm not
So I can't
And I won't
But if I was your girl...

That's not the whole song...but we get the idea...don't we?

Yep, which is why I said "More Sinatra..." [emphasis on "more"]

Toose, I've noticed you (as well as Holden) have great taste in music (that's assuming MY OWN taste in music is great, which of course it is ).

Simple Man (Lynyrd Skynyrd)

Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.
And if you do this
It will help you some sunny day.
Take your time... Don't live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.
Go find a woman and you'll find love,
And don't forget son,
There is someone up above.

(Chorus)
And be a simple kind of man.
Be something you love and understand.
Be a simple kind of man.
Won't you do this for me son,
If you can?

Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul,
And you can do this if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

(Chorus)

Boy, don't you worry... you'll find yourself.
Follow you heart and nothing else.
And you can do this if you try.
All I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

(Chorus)

I ain't gettin' in no fryer!
That has to be one of the most catchy songs I have ever heard.

They aren't as meaningful...

That song is about returning home from a tour, Mussel Shoals, and the fued with Neil Young over his song "Southern Man"... None of which I can relate to....

Now this one... when life gets hard is meaningful.

If you're smart enough to figure things out on your own, and just listen to a song because it deals with what you are going through, listen away.

If you're one that can't figure things out on your own and listen to a song due to what it deals with and decide to do what's done in the song, you're asking for trouble.

BTW, I said it was my opinion.

Now With Moveable Parts
someone's attitude is showing.

The last selection in the ballgame.
Does never get a pass. Not appreciated's just his first name.
He's the scapegoat of the class.
There are no friends to cheer him up and no girls, no sweet romance.
It's impossible to expand, when you never get a second chance.

Do you know, who's that guy, who's all alone?
Do you care enough to see? He's in pain and misery.

He's not going to the school-prom. He said he had the flu.
Trumped-up excuses as he told mom.
- I´m safer here with you.
She told her son.
- Someday, they'll all be sorry for mistreating you.
Don't be afraid my son and trust me,
-You'll be someone they will look up to.

Do you know, who's that guy, who's all alone?
Do you care enough to see? He's in pain and misery...
Do you care to see?

Do you know, who's that guy, who's all alone?
Do you care enough to see? He's in pain and misery.

The above Song, The Ballad by Millencolin, is a very meaningful song Spud. I've read stories and talked to people who have actually NOT commited suicide because of that song. So looking to songs for help isn't as terrible as it seems....

Whatever man... thanks for the counseling....

When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes,
I will dry them all
I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found

Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around

Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Sail on silver girl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
When you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind

Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel

I took off for a weekend last month
Just to try and recall the whole year
All of the faces and all of the places
Wonderin' where they all disappeared
I didn't ponder the question too long
I was hungry and went out for a bite
Ran into a chum with a bottle of rum
And we wound up drinkin all night

Chorus:
It's these changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes
Nothing remains quite the same
With all of our running and all of our cunning
If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane

Reading departure signs in some big airport
Reminds me of the places I've been
Visions of good times that brought so much pleasure
Makes me want to go back again
If it suddenly ended tomorrow
I could somehow adjust to the fall
Good times and riches and son of a bitches
I've seen more than I can recall

Chorus:
These changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes
Nothing remains quite the same
Through all of the islands and all of the highlands
If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane

I think about Paris when I'm high on red wine
I wish I could jump on a plane
So many nights I just dream of the ocean
God I wish I was sailin' again
Oh, yesterday's over my shoulder
So I can't look back for too long
There's just too much to see waiting in front of me
And I know that I just can't go wrong

Chorus:
With these changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes
Nothing remains quite the same
With all of my running and all of my cunning
If I couldn't laugh I just would go insane
If we couldn't laugh we just would go insane
If we weren't all crazy we would go insane
