+ rep for all of these movies. They may not be the best of each year, but they're all good movies.

Alien and Aliens fall a little bit too close to horror for my taste, but I can't deny how good they are anyway.

Alien Nation was a good movie, but I liked the series even more than the movie.

The Nutty Professor
Solaris
Scanners
The Nutty Professor is a sci-fi movie? I don't like Jerry Lewis, so I've never seen a lot of his movies, including this one. He's very annoying in most movies that I've seen him in, especially the ones with Dean Martin. (I love Dean Martin, so I've seen a few of the Martin and Lewis movies.)

I like the remake of Solaris with George Clooney, but I haven't seen the whole movie of the 1972 original version. I've only seen bits and pieces of it.

I've never seen Scanners, but many years ago at a sci-fi convention, they showed still pics from movies, and the audience had to guess what movie the pics were from. They showed one pic that looked like a guy's head exploding, and most people yelled out Scanners, but the pic turned out to be from Raiders of the Lost Ark, when the ark is opened.

Yeah, The Nutty Professor is borderline but it's classed as Sci-Fi.
It's been called a comedy version of Jekyll and Hyde.

All to do with sciencey potions and stuff.

Is it good enough that it's worth watching The Nutty Professor even if I don't like Jerry Lewis?

Well, the list is a case of "if you're a sci-fi fan, watch these" kinda thing.

I'd definitely give it a look, regardless of cast.

You definitely have good taste in movies, so based on your recommendation, I'll give it a try.

I don't find Jerry Lewis funny either. Blew, the French can have him

The Lost World...all I remember of this is someone falls of a cliff, an iguana has a fin glued to it's back and Jill St John.

First Men In The Moon...I saw this not so long ago, likeable but Lionel Jeffries was too hyper.

Fantastic Voyage...Very cool film, interesting too and it has Raquel Welch.

Planet Of The Apes..I love this film!
