What was the last DVD you bought and why?

Kakarot89: The Infamous Thread Killer
I bought A Bittersweet Life the other day because I love Kim Jee-Woon. I think that's enough of a reason.

I've always wanted to watch this 15 1/2 hr classic.

I also bought World On A Wire on amazon.

With these 2 new additions I hope to catch up on some more Fassbinder, so far I've only seen The Marriage Of Maria Braun and Fear Eats The Soul.

Got a couple at Big-Lots left over from Black Friday, both 1.88

Second copy of Before the Devil, and got Wanted and Desired.

Forgot I'd already seen Quantum, realized I had after watching it. 5 bucks also at Big Lots, included a sleek 2009 calendar. Cheap considering how they inflated prices due to the new sequel.

I like the actress but she was not in it much, I prefer the stronger Bond girls like the one above, and Vesper in Casino Royale. Not just for 'eye candy' types Bond girls like in the earlier films.

Hehe I know what you mean. According to this law of bad luck they are probably making a fourth blade film right now!

^I did the same with the Bourne Trilogy, simply dig the films. And then they had to go and make a fourth!

'the best laid plans...' - Robert Burns

Yet two more thanks to Amazon, cheaper than it was in the Barnes & Noble sale, that's no longer on so it's even more expensive.

Apparently Traffic was one of Ingmar Bergman's favourite modern films, I've yet to see it so I'm looking forwards to seeing what he liked so much about it.

So a man who made, largely, boring films likes a boring film. Makes sense.

I haven't seen Traffic, but looking through your S&S list you haven't Bergmans greatest work Persona, bergman is a genius of his art, and I hardly ever feel bored during one of his films

Indeed! shower me in boring films and the boring films they like.

Give him a break; Drew Barrymore didn't even exist for most of them, so there's only so much he was going to be able to make you like them to begin with.

She wasn't in The Seventh Seal, either, but I liked that. However, Wild Strawberries, The Silence and Scenes From A Marriage I thought were boring in the extreme. I've tried to watch a few others, and failed for the same reason. That said, I'd still like to try Hour Of The Wolf and The Virgin Spring. I've had both recorded at different times, but haven't had the time.

A copy for me and one as a gift, I'd put this film in the underrated category before. I think most people dig it, but few ever mention it. Also a good holiday flick with an uplifting ending, believe it or not.
