Awesome Actor/Director Stories That You've Read/Heard?

DePalma, handled mostly by Noah Baumbach, has many things coming out of Brian's mouth, all interesting, if you are curious about the almost always failing DePalma.

Fascinating because there is no narrative. It's just DePalma and some cutaways to his films. Nothing more. Brilliant.

Tom Hardy made the news recently as well. Good story this time:

He witnessed a robbery, and the robber tried to escape through some tight winding alleyways... Tom gave chase, jumping over garden fences and stuff, like a scene from a British crime movie

He caught up with the guy, tackled him to the ground and beat the crap out of him, then handed him over to the cops.

Reporters asked him some questions and all he said was "I caught the f*cker"

Good job it wasn't Venom chasing him.

Another story about Tom Hardy...

On the set of Lawless, Hardy was out-acting Shia Labeouf, so after they finished a take, Labeouf sucker-punched Hardy and knocked him clean out.

"Honor is not in the Weapon. It is in the Man"
Another recent director story. I talked with Leo Scherman, who directed the recently released indie war horror film Trench 11, and he had started out as a production assistant. When he had the chance to work with David Cronenberg on "ExistenZ", Scherman said that after filming was complete, Cronenberg became a mentor to Scherman, critiquing his early short films and even helped Scherman come up with ideas during the early writing for "Trench 11".
