Post any poems you've written. I tried one last night. It's my first, so don't be too brutal.

The old wizard stared into the sea
From his favorite rock, higher than all around
Slave to the wind, his gold robes danced just off the ground
His hair as well, was made to fly forcefully

But this old man was filled with so much might
He could wave his hand, cause calm in the air
Or make the wind stronger, and use it to take flight
Fly close to a crowd, and give all a good scare
Or order people around without fear of commotion
Create a great beast who serves his every delight
And know that all will show him great devotion

But who will love him as much as he desires
Not them, nor himself, as he shows his strength
He flew back to his rock to glare at length
And again await his wish, the day he finally expires

I am having a nervous breakdance
Is it about Saruman?

Ok, here I go. This is old...

Please, tell your
soul to come my way
Release her and
learn from how she behaves
Embellish this
friendship with your lust
It wouldn't hurt to trust our trust
Embellish it with your lust

They had temporarily escaped the factories, the warehouses, the slaughterhouses, the car washes - they'd be back in captivity the next day but
now they were out - they were wild with freedom. They weren't thinking about the slavery of poverty. Or the slavery of welfare and food stamps. The rest of us would be all right until the poor learned how to make atom bombs in their basements.

I See You When You're Sleeping
Good idea for a thread
ok.....

I come to stand belief
as she walks into her ruins
that she made herself believe
that she has fallen on her feet

Although her will is strong
she knows it can't be long
untill the rain falls down tonight
and washes all the streets clean

Tonight, we say goodbye.
Goodnight, her violet eye.

A Childhood

When I was seven
I wanted a monkey for my birthday.

But I only got a train set
that smoked
and smelt like burning
when you left it on the track too long.

My Everything

She's my direction
My motivation
A butterfly in spring
A beautiful thing

She's my meaning
My inner being
A reason to sing
My everything

Take my hand
Help me through
I don't want to live
Without you

Part of a beautiful poem written by my boyfriend............

I See You When You're Sleeping
something

you never knew my name,
as time soldiered on.
It's something I could lose,
and I never gave you much.

I could lay lay my trust,
in something new.
the time to carry on,
means something.

keel over and die?
no time for something.
choose to stay alive?
no time for something.

Wildflowers

In the land of the Wildflowers,
The Wildflowers cease to grow.

Within

Encompassed in flesh,
framed in bone
Beats heart of black,
lies heart of stone
Eternal pump,
obscene machine
Thrusts tides of hate,
flows me unclean
Rivers of darkness,
deep and vast
Of the sinister heart,
of deeds amassed
Rivers rushing through my veins
Through decayed forests of my remains
Splatters of rain,
splatters of pain
Rainbows of crimson,
existence bane
Of every second,
of pain insane
I strain,
sustain,
to snap my chains

Why Was I Walking Alone?

Why was I walking alone?
In the city, the semi darkness of night,
all the lights could not have shown,
me, suffocating, locked inside,
the trunk of the evil man's car,
I almost died.
He didn't want me, just my body,
my womanly figure, my temple,
he thought I was just a hottie.

Suddenly, the car slowed,
I barely heard the door shut,
the blood trails must have glowed.
I saw him again, I was pulled out,
back to the semi darkness of night,
in this parking lot, I began to shout.
His strong hands hit me, then threw me down,
his hands fooled with my hair and dress,
I was below this sinister clown.
He was ready, all ready to abuse,
when he was just about to begin,
he met my shoes.

Then he looked down and realized
that I wasn't as feminine as he thought,
and boy was he surprised!
After I beated up the bad gnome,
Eddie Murphy drove by,
and offered to take me home.

Dreams Don't Die

Dreams don't die.
Souls never lie.
Truth doesn't cry.
People don't know why.
It's all going past your eye.
Is it better to be shy?
Is it all up in the sky?
Is it pulling off your tie?
Does it make you go "Oh, my" ?
Does it make you want to lie?
Do you fear that you're going to fry?
Are you asking why?
Are you really going to die?
Dreams don't die.
Dreams don't die.

Growth
by Uday Gunjikar

The child learns
And becomes a man
Or woman--a full-fledged adult,
Not a cradle fledgling.
Spreading our wings,
We soar to heights undreamed of,
Rising above the lofty pinnacles
Of the highest peaks of Everest
To embrace the stars.

Faith
by Uday Gunjikar

When darkness envelops us,
Faith redeems us.
When we grope
In the inky blackness
Of the deep night,
When we are stifled and suffocated,
Coughing up black dust and phlegm
And thick smoke clouds our perception,
Stinging our eyes,
Making them water . . .
When we are paralyzed
In the grip of terror,
Tormented and plagued
By paranoid fantasies
And narcissistic delusions . . .
We can still turn to the Light
And find our way through the perilous shadows,
Emerging unscathed
From the Valley of the Shadow of Death--
The fearsome dell--
To exult in the warmth and glory,
The boundless grace and unconditional love
Of the Living Son.

The Psycho
by Uday Gunjikar

The psycho eyes his neighbor
With piercing malice
Glowering in his eyes.
He coldly observes
The warm happiness
Of guiltless souls at play.
With cruel, dispassionate envy,
He schemes to destroy
The fleeting moments of pleasure and joy
That sincere hearts enjoy
In mutually consensual company.

The psycho reels and staggers
Under the perverse burden
Of his deranged, tormented imagination
As he concocts venomous lies
To demonize
And dehumanize
And persecute
The joyful at play.

Envious of their happiness,
He finds perverse pleasure
In savage, malicious destruction.
