Another, VERY odd thing I noticed

Now I don't know if this is a cookie from another site or something, but I've been noticing this lately. When I'm at your site, and its the first site I usually go to, I start my routine, open all the new posts in new windows etc etc. I'm flipping through, writing replies, when all of a sudden a pop-up ad pops up. I didn't think you had pop up ads...which is why its so strange. But the strangest thing is that the ad is for a virtul stripper. It comes up in a small, square window, and only seems to come up when I'm at MoFo. I'm figuring its a cookie I got from some other site(and no I don't go to porn sites, so i know its not from there). I do kinda remember seeing it pop up once when I was at Maxim's online site...Still kinda strange though.

Nope, no pop up ads on my site -- but that kind of thing does happen to me, too. I go from one site to another, and a popup opens when I LEAVE the other site, which makes it seem as if the site I'm going to has opened it. Rest assured, though, that there are no pop-ups here. Hopefully I'll never have to resort to those.

Ah! It happened to me too...just once...first time ever. The window looked like the window for Babylon, a small program I use that sits in my system tray. I'll have to see if I can figure out what's going on.

Another one just poped up(even got past my popup killer). This one was for a free domain hosting site...

I still haven't figured this out. I wonder if there's some fairly large site that's setting cookies or something -- although, as far as I know, it would be impossible to have them popping up in that manner. Anyway, I'll let you know if I figure things out, but I've never added any pop-up code to this site (at least not knowingly), so I'm stumped.

Another one just poped up. This one for Vivid.com's xxx girls. The one before that was for a camera. Its different each time.

Can you do me a favor, Peter? The next time one pops up, try to view it's HTML source...if you can, please email the source to me. Try to do the same with the page on MovieForums that caused the popup to load -- that may help me pinpoint things, as I've only been able to duplicate this problem once.

Has anyone else had this problem? Even if you haven't, please speak up -- if all of you post to show that you haven't, then I'll know that it's something apart from this site, like some sort of program OG- and I both run, or something.

I haven't encountered this problem, fortunately.

OG--you get these only while you're browsing or posting in this forum? What if you clean up your cache?

Will do, but it'll be hard to pinpoint which page it is, because when i come I just click new posts, then open all of the posts in new windows. It pops up sometimes during that. I'll do individual posts next time.

u mighta downloaded a file that did that, cause before i formatted my HD, everyonce in a while when i was surfing any site, and i'd exit IE i would get a pop up for an XXX site, it was really wierd, i dunno if during one of my rare searches for a "warez program" (naughty me) i accidentily hit YES to one of those annoying pop up boxes and it quickly d/l something to my computer.

Nah, their the same pretty much.

I haven't seen any popups yet, but I know they have some ingenious scripts! They "install" themselves stealthily, and every now and again, they send a pop-up onto the screen...you could probably find the bugger hiding with a program like TaskInfo 2000 (I forgot the link, you can find it with Google).

Why is it that the thing on the bottom says On The Boards 5 members and 3 guests but it only shows 3 member names?
