Jaws II over The Big Sleep?

"You know what he'll do when he comes back? Beat my teeth out, then kick me in the stomach for mumbling."

Come on!

Sternwood, Mars, Marlowe, Lash Canino, Vivian... so many awesome characters...

Ship The Big Sleep up to the Top 10 at least.

Really though - you have superb taste!

Sorry, Sedai, I don't care much for Bogie.

Witness is awesome. It was the first non-Star Wars, non-Indiana Jones film I saw Harrison Ford in. He was the only reason I watched it, but in the end it opened me up to different types of films I may not otherwise have watched.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
You missed out on American Graffiti and a few others all those years? Or are you just talking about films where he played a lead?

I don't think I saw American Graffiti for the first time until after Witness. I could be wrong, though. I just know up to that point (at age 11) my movie going had been focused on more kiddie-type films (Disney, Star Wars, goofy comedies). Witness helped me see that the type of movies I had always thought were just boring could actually be good.

To Catch A Thief and Mirage are both excellent.

CQ, if you liked The Vanishing, do your best to see Spoorloos, the original 1988 Dutch film. This isn't one of those "Oh, you must see the original" film snob must see, it's one of those "everyone sees that the original is far superior" film snob must sees.

I've actually heard a good bit about this one. I'll take your word for it, HK. I'll probably get around to it one of these days.

In the Line of Fire was an excellent film. Great thriller. I included it on my Top 100 list.

I need to watch it again soon.

The only thing I had a problem with was this scene (or the one just before it). I mean I don't usually say anything, but I said, "Really? Clint Eastwood is how old in this movie?"
