Last Dvd or Blu-Ray you purchased

I’m sure with the lockdown there have been quite a few purchases over the past few months.

Mine have been Nosferatu (1922), M (1931), Das Cabinet des Dr Caligari (1920) and an early years Hitchcock boxset.

I bought a ‘Lilya 4ever’ DVD on Amazon (at the time it was the last one) and ‘Dancer in the Dark’. Started watching ‘M’ last night, the quality on Amazon Prime is abysmal and it’s the German version. Will get a DVD of that too. I’m wondering if the English dubbed version is very different.

I bought the Eureka Dvd which has 2 versions of the film. The German version is excellent quality. The English version is a bit gritty with alternate scenes, but is 20 mins shorter.
The German version is superior but both well worth having.

I had to get Color Out of Space. Being a Lovecraft fan (the actual original stories), I recall previous versions, but this one, with Nick Cage grossly overacting, which went to theaters for about 18 hours, was out on disk a couple weeks after that, and then dropped into the discount bin a day or two later, could not be missed. The fate of the movie seemed to mirror the cosmic decay of the place from the storyline.

I had a gift certificate for the Criterion store and couldn't resist picking up a copy of The Lure. If you're going to own a mermaid-musical-horror-romance-drama-fantasy, you should own the best one, am I right?

Not seen this one yet but Barry Manilow's review for it does make it sound interesting:
"It's the fillum that comes and gives without taking."

The first Terminator movie.

I have a thing for time travel movies.
