Iraq in Fragments

This is a great documentary and it explains both the political and social situation in Iraq after the war. I like that it doesn't take sides. Just tells different people's stories.

It's divided into three parts and gives a chance to people from all 3 major ethnic/religious groups in Iraq (Sunnis, Shi'ites and Kurds) to tell their story.
Is this going to break my heart? Or will it make me go get my pitchfork?

I will say this - it made me cry. And very few films have been able to get that kind of reaction from me. I say give it a go.

An interesting one I saw a few years back is Buddha Collapsed Out of Shame directed by the young Iranian diresctor Haha Makhmalbaf (daughter of director Mohsun and sister of Samira also a film director)

I think the only middle eastern film i've ever seen is an iranian film called the White Balloon. it's a charming story about a little girl who wants to buy a fancy goldfish, and loses the money her mother gives her to buy it with. Various people help her to get it back.
