Good Book-to-Film Adaptations?

Tools

What do you think are some good adaptations of books out there? Ones that are pretty faithful to their source and also entertaining movies?

I'm trying to think of some, but in all honesty I haven't read as many of the original books as I've seen of their movie versions so I can't really accurately compare all of the movie adaptations I've seen... but I'll try to name a few I have just to get the ball rolling...

Okay, how about Sin City. I've read the graphic novels and I think the film is just about as perfect an adaptation as you can get. A Scanner Darkly, Carrie, Dolores Claiborne, Pet Sematary, Misery, and The Dead Zone were very good adaptations too, I thought. Might as well add The Green Mile...

(You probably guessed I've read a lot of King )
