As you can see I like Scorsese's films extremely much. All of the films that I've seen from him have a lot of quality. The top 5 are the really 'special' films he's made, in my opinion.

The last 8 movies can also switch between eachother all the time. it's all a matter of mood.

Taxi Driver may rise to the second place in the future (after another rewatch), as I start loving that film more and more every day.

This a friendly question. Do you ever rate movies below
?
Yes, but no good ones.

I generally rate movies so high, because I always try to see the good things in movies, rather than the bad. It's not like a film loses 1 point because it makes a little mistake for me. I rate my personal total experience.

I don't really care that much about ratings, anyway.

I haven't watched some of Scorsese's most famous films:

1.Taxi Driver

2.Shutter Island

3.Goodfellas

4.The Aviator

5.Gangs of New York

6.The Departed

7.Raging Bull

8.Hugo

9.The Color of Money

He is pretty much one of my top 20 favorite directors, maybe top 10. His movies are very, very memorable and well made and visceral (specially Goodfellas and Taxi Driver). I would say that Scorsese is one of the top 10 greatest living directors.

This a friendly question. Do you ever rate movies below
?
But Scorsese is one of his favorite directors (and one of the best directors around), I never rated a Miyazaki, Kurosawa, Kubrick, Ozu or Tarkovsky film lower than
, which are my top 5 favorite directors.

I do, but whatever.
One may think that you are a bit to strict with our ratings, though since you have watched way more movies than I or Cobbyth, your standards may be more strict than mine or Cobpyth's.

I give high ratings to movies that I find particularly memorable. Scorsese, for instance, made several of those. I also note that I need to watch Casino and Mean Streets someday.

4. Raging Bull - 9/10
5. Mean Streets 9/10

Just barely missing the cut: Gangs of New York, Bringing Out The Dead, Shutter Island

I find The Departed to be one of the most overrated movies in history.
