Recommendations for movies with a positive mother-son relationship?

How far back you wanna go?

There's something like Sergeant York for instance.

Would The World According To Garp qualify?

And if you're including foreign films how about Hijo de la Novia from Argentina?

Only the Lonely (1991)

It's been so long, but I think most of the movie is about a lonely man (John Candy) who for the first time finds love, but has to contend with his mother (Maureen O'hara) who is afraid to lose her son if he decides to marry (ala "Marty").

But I think they work it out in the end! (Either way, good movie!)

Surely there is an Almodovar film out there with a good mother and son vibe. 'All about my Mother' maybe?

Aleksandr Sokurov's 'mother and son' is one of the most poetic and purest forms of son - mother love I've seen on screen, but it's pretty much one way traffic and isn't your traditional narrative film: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119711/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_1

Too late to use Only God Forgives.

And whoever mentioned Ordinary People is maybe thinking of another movie. Or maybe I am. Mary Tyler Moore and Timothy Hutton right?

That had to be a joke. I would say that Ordinary people is an excellent example of the opposite of what you are looking for.
