A Nighmare On Elm Street Remake would be my personal least favourite though.

Oldest owned: Not sure, maybe Pitch Black or Armageddon, bought back in early 2000s when DVDs were brand new.
Oldest made: The War Of The Worlds made in 1952.

Most recent movie?
Most recent made: Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Super 8, Cowboys And Aliens, all made in 2011.
Most recent bought: Eight Legged Freaks, bought it last week.

Director with most movies?
Paul Verhoeven (Robocop, Total Recal, Starship Troopers, Hollow Man).

Do you buy movies you haven't seen?
Sometimes.

Least favorite movie in your collection and your rating?

That's a tough one. Perhaps Artificial Intelligence or Little Miss Sunshine. Both got 1 star out of 5 because I couldn't bring myself to care one iota about the fate of any of the characters and found myself quite bored by them both. There are several movies in my collection that are perhaps "worse," but I didn't have high expectations and therefore was not disappointed with them.

By this, I assume you mean oldest as in terms of date of release rather than date of purchase, but I'll answer both. Date of Release: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Date of Purchase: Gladiator

I've never sat and counted, but I'd assume the answer is either Tim Burton or Steven Spielberg.

Do you buy movies you haven't seen?

Yes, which is how I ended up with so many 1 star movies. There are some movies in my collection that I still haven't seen.

If you have 20 movies how many are foreign?

Of all the movies in my collection, only 6 are non-English language.

As my collection has only recently been hacked up and the bad movies sold off this has actually become a really hard question for me to answer. I think it'll probably be Blade 3 but you have to have them all right?

This is kind of fact I wont know but its probably Alfred Hitchcock or Steven Spielberg.

Yes, I do this a lot. I'm a sucker for those trailers before a film getting me to purchase another film.

I would say 20 to 25 percent of my collection are foreign films.

Tyler, what do you dislike so much about If...?

Firstly, the intermittent changes between colour & black&white served little purpose and was distracting. Secondly, I felt that the director was trying too hard to implicate that the austere religious education system played a role in the subsequent mental breakdown of the group of teenage students which culminated in the final shoot-out. I also thought the pacing of the movie was slow and movie itself was dull.

Least favorite movie in your collection and your rating?
Kyodai Makes the Big Time (Kaganof, 1992) - . It (and 3 other films) came with the dutch dvd of Prospero's Books.
Oldest movie?
Earliest feature film: The Saphead (1920). I have some dvds that have very early short films as bonus materials. Maybe one of the bonus (non-Popeye) cartoons on the first Popeye the Sailor Man collection.

Not sure. I haven't bought many films in the last year. Maybe Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame (2010).

If you include short films it's almost certainly Dave Fleischer followed by Buster Keaton. If Feature films only: Brian De Palma (15), Tsui Hark (13 + 3 more on VHS), Buster Keaton (10), Robert Altman (8), Hal Hartley/Akira Kurosawa/Peter Greenaway (5).

If they're things I want to see and can't rent/borrow, yes.

No idea. I would guess they're about even (so 10).

No mystery there, the production was running out of money near the end, so they just bought that black & white film stock because it was cheaper.

As for the oldest owned DVD, I can't point one out, some of my first DVDs I've sold and upgraded, for example I had Reservoir Dogs when it first came out on DVD and now have the 15th Anniversary edition:




Most recent movie? This is the last I got on blu-ray(steelbook edition), just came out in Britain this week:





Director with most movies? Easy, Ingmar Bergman, got every film avaliable on DVD that's out in Britain except The Serpent's Egg because I don't like it at all, and also got a few you can't get here like Face To Face that I imported from America. 40+ films of his I think. My favourite film director.

Umm.. will have to go with James Bond:Tomorrow Never dies.... I give it 3.5/5 but its my least fav because my a*hole stepdad was OBSESSED with it and ALWAYS chose it when it was his turn to pick. Its almost been 3 years since I've moved out and I havnt watched it since.

When Circuit City was going out of business, I bought this bundle of 50 classic horror movies dates ranging from 1940s-1960s so one of those in the 1940s release.
