Wes Craven
Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight is my least favorite of his movies)

I don't get all the love for James Cameron. He makes films years apart and they're not even good.
His are some of the best!

What I don't understand is the love for Quentin Tarantino. His films are fine, but I prefer the original Grindhouse movies to his modern ones.

Terminator was cool I guess for its time. Titanic sucked. Avatar sucked. That's it?

Tarantino makes cool looking films with smart dialogue and great stories. Tarantino has only made one Grindhouse film, Death Proof.

That's one film under the banner of Grindhouse, but most - if not all - are heavily inspired by grindhouse films. Inglorious Basterds is an homage to the Italian macaroni combat films of the '70s. Kill Bill to the samurai films of the '70s. Jackie Brown to the blaxploitation films of the, you guessed it, '70s. These were all types of movies played in grindhouse movies.

And James Cameron also made Aliens, The Abyss, True Lies, and Piranha II.
