After Some Help on title of movie, please.

Movie about people (a family i think) that are living in the walls of a house and then new tennants move in. Late 70's or early 80's. And i think its a true story.

Help would be great if anyone has some suggestions.

It kind of sounds like People Under the Stairs. That's a 1991 movie though, so I'm probably wrong.
