The MoFo Top Video Games List: The Countdown!

Another from mine already! Had Mega Man 2 at #21. Have to confess i can barely remember which Mega Man is which as it's been so long and i've played the first 8 loads. They were a massive part of my childhood/early teens though so i had to have one on there somewhere, asked a friend which one was the best and i trusted his judgement.

Played: 3/4
My List: 2/25

12. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
21. Mega Man 2

Is your friend my room mate by any chance? He also has a number of game novelizations that he admits are really bad, but that doesn't stop him from buying them. He says some of the Resident Evil ones aren't horrible but...I don't believe him.
Jesus christ he has a few of the Resident Evil ones too, no joke. Diablo too.

Looking forward to seeing how high Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards is in this list

Glad we picked the same match. It may not have been represented if we didn't,

Yep it wouldn't have made it. The three before it where joint 50th and they only had one point less than Mega Man, my five points came in handy

Sad that's the only one we have in common though.

You're a big lying liar!

There's a Leisure Suit Larry game at #188. There actually is!

I'm the only Diablo player in this house, so I highly doubt my room mate owns any Diablo novels. Maybe I should check though, just to be certain haha.

For those of you curious about Mega Man, there are a couple of excellent collections on consoles and Steam. Lots of extras and, crucially for those of us with sausages in place of actual fingers, a save state option.

I have a feeling something of mine that I put very high will not make the list.

Boo-urns.

Suspect's Reviews

I know how you feel, Suspect. I am extremely confident that neither my #1 nor my #2 will make the Countdown. I'm not sure what percentage of my full list will make the cut, but if I had to bet, I'd go with 50% or lower haha.

Welcome to the human race...
Bubble Bobble is a fun little game, but I didn't vote for it.

New Vegas was my #2. I picked it as representative of the whole franchise for reasons that have already been mentioned - namely, that it proved a welcome combination of the best elements of both the original Black Isle games and also 3 (which I did like a lot at first but have since soured on quite a bit - it's very easy to think that New Vegas improved on it in many different ways).

I mean, if you've got a spare 90 minutes this was a solid articulation of the issues with 3...

Never played Mega Man 2, or any Mega Man game for that matter.

Never even heard of Bubble Bobble.

Even though I absolutely love the Elder Scrolls series I just couldn't get into Fallout 3 or New Vegas. I got bored of both of them only a couple hours in.

I don't think I ever played any Mega Man games.

You can't make a rainbow without a little rain.
50= Bubble Bobble

Released: August 1986
Developer: Taito
Format: Arcade, various

41 points: One 10th, one 12th, one 15th

Yay! Something on my list made the countdown! Maybe that means there's a chance that a few more games on my list might make the countdown too.

I was addicted to Bubble Bobble back in my younger days. It was #15 on my list.

So really we're getting more than 50 games? Woohoo!
Well, no. Next entry will be number 47.

Say, if you get two guys tying in a race at the Olympics, they share the gold. Next one home takes bronze.

Shouldn't all three of the #50 entries actually all be #48? That would be equivalent to each of them getting the highest "medal" awarded. (Using your system, the two top guys at the Olympics would share the silver medal, and the third guy would get the bronze.)
