I prefer Yoda's idea, of you all just asking in this thread, if/when you notice someone being banned.
There's already a lot to remember. Checking for/deleting posts, multiple accounts, websites being linked in the profile, making sure we are right, before we go too crazy on the delete/ban buttons . . . I'd rather not have to remember this every time, as well. I have a feeling we ban more times than you all maybe realize. I've already banned 8 people in the last 7 days. The two last night were porn spam, and canned spam. I was already rushing, trying to get it all off of the board, plus checking all of that other stuff out, before I could get back to my children. I'm not trying to moan, but this seems like it will be a lot more time spent on it. I'm not saying I won't reply, of course. I'm just saying that I'd sooner it be limited to those few, rare times, like Vertical Gunn.

Yeah, I agree. I agree with Sam about the benefits of all this, but 9 out of 10 times we'd be posting information that literally no one would have any interest in.

I'd rather not ask the mods to do any more than they already do (which is a heck of a lot), but I'll make a special point to post in this thread when any noteworthy bannings, or any bannings of anyone site regular, occur. And feel free to ask about any of them here, too.

I was on a forum before called Gamesradar(uk site, but got shut down by Future,) they had a MIA list, it wasn't just for banned people, but for people who have gone and not returned, and people who had their name changed by the Admin etc. I think that'd be a good idea. Was really useful to see who'd been mising for awhile, and to see if they returned. It was simple, someone made the thread, not the admin or mods, but it was a long list (the admin or mods could out a reason via editing the op to say why someone was banned next to their name?). e.g.

Pedz - MIA
n3wt - name changed to whim-wham
Frank - banned (Admin edited) for posting pron of mudkips
Fred - Returned!
etc.
etc.

Though, I've not been here that long, so I don't really know anyone tidy(as in spoke via PM or something, well bar n3wt, as he lives a few streets away and have know him for 17 years,) so wouldn't benefit me much, yet. It could benefit others a lot more.

What you think of that idea guys and girls?

Why not just post the missing, renamed and banned people in that there thread. Be easier?

Quite honestly, it hasn't been posted in for over a year now, so only a few people still knew of its existence.

Agan, I'd say if it's a big deal, and only if it's a big deal, should it be given the time of day. I doubt you'll throw your arms up in the air too much if vividvideo234, who has all of one or two posts, is banned for posting spam.

I was a mod in a place years ago which featured a kinda graveyard of banned members, but only the ones who'd done something really daft, and we're not talking spamming, flaming, multi-nicks or even annoying me. Much.

After a month or so of popularity the novelty wore off - we stopped posting names and people stopped requesting them.

I'm all for Community Restorative Justice, though. *cough*

Er, no: actually, you were barred from creating new threads because you were constantly creating bizarre, pointless ones. We have plenty of political threads I don't agree with, and they're all still here, and their owners retain full membership privileges. But if nothing else, I admire your sheer persistence in pursuing some sort of MoFo martyrdom.

I don't know why people are getting pre-occupied on spammers, most sensible people can spot them a mile off anyway. Unless its jrs. I think if people are returning under different alias' after being banned- that's something to be told. But no-one really knows (or remembers) spammers like proper members (in as much as you can know someone online) so posting the banning is fruitless, plus i still thought their title changed to 'BANNED- PLANT / SPAM'. That's easier answer to that. Personally i'm always curious to it as it can put other stuff you've read from them into a more real context.

It's fine as long as you put something extra/different, as you did. But yeah, we don't usually allow people to fake bannings with user titles and all that.

Well...that is...unless you WANT to be banned. Everyone here has good chemistry with one another, unless you're on Holden's bad side. Then you're just hopeless.

Trust us, when there's a banning worth fanfare, we'll let you know.
