Tools

I'm creating a map of movie journeys and road trips.
https://maps.google.com/gallery/details?id=z4f-ZuCLmiKg.k7Ia1GVbzf4Q&hl=en

What are your top 10 journeys in film?
Did I miss your favorite journey or road trip in the map? My goal is to grow this map to have *all* famous journeys.

The trip Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis take in THELMA AND LOUISE

John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga's trip in THE SURE THING

The Griswald family's trip to Wally World in NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VACATION

Kevin Costner's trip with his young hostage in A PERFECT WORLD

Breckin Meyer, Seann William Scott, Paulo Constanzo, and DJ Qualls' trip in ROAD TRIP

Robin Wright and Cary Elwes' journey in THE PRINCESS BRIDE

Tim Robbins' escape in THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION

Jim Carrey's final escape in THE TRUMAN SHOW

Goldie Hawn and William Atherton's journey to get their son in THE SUGARLAND EXPRESS

The entre flight in AIR FORCE ONE

Great subject for a thread BTW, good luck with your project.

Finished here. It's been fun.
The best journey in film is Captain Williard's journey down the river to find Captain Kurtz in Apocalypse Now.Nothing else even comes close.

Lucas already said Apocalypse Now, and you have Indiana Jones on the list so I will go for a physical journey Judah Ben-Hur's journey in Ben-Hur. I am also partial to Travis Bickle's journey into madness and various drives around New York City in Taxi Driver.

Also for Forest Gump's part of the map you forgot his trip to Vietnam and ping pong with the Chinese.

Don't torture yourself, Gomez. That's my job.
Pee Wee's Big Adventure (1985)
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994)
The Cannonball Run (1981)
Smokey and the Bandit (1977)
Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)
Easy Rider (1969)

I could only think of one non-American one. Sads.

Hey don't forget Stalker and journey to the Zone!
My favorite must be Apocalypse Now though.

Aguirre's "descent" into "madness" has to be one of the most artificial and unconvincing depictions of madness I've ever seen in all of cinema.

What about Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (to Hell)? Although I have no idea how you'd put that on a map...
