3. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)
Nominated by: wyldesyde19
43 Points (8,7,6,6,5,5,4,2)

The trick is not minding
I had The Great Silence at #4 so I was close. I see people were split on that one, three high votes and four low votes.
I did not like The Great Silence at all. It was nice to look at, and even the music was nice to listen to (it was Morricone afterall) but the dialogue was pretty bad at times. Trintignant was pretty good as Silence. But that was about it.

Did you watch it in English or Italian with subs?

2. Rio Bravo (1959)

Which means the winner is....

1. The Ox-Bow Incident (1943)
Nominated by: Citizen Rules
46 Points (8,8,7,6,5,4,4,4)

Congrats @Citizen Rules for the win!!!!
Here was my list:

1. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
2. Rio Bravo
3. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
4. The Great Silence
5. The Ox-Bow Incident
6. The Shooting
7. The Cowboys
8. The Salvation

Thanks ahwell for hosting this! Solid job! And a fun HoF

And thanks to all the members for participating and finishing! I hope all of you guys will join the next Western HoF III that edarsenal is hosting.

I really need me a western theme avatar for the next Western HoF

My voting list:
1 The Ox-Bow Incident
2 Rio Bravo
3 The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
4 The Cowboys
5 The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
6 The Great Silence
7 The Shooting
8 The Salvation

The only film I didn't like was The Salvation, though my dad just watched it and liked it, so like I said it was still a good nom, just not my style of film.

Ox-Bow and Rio Bravo are a top 10 lock for my Western Countdown voting list.

Great job to everyone involved here. If I had a vote it'd go like this-

1. Ox-Bow
2. Liberty Valance
3. Cowboys
4. Great Silence
5. TGTBATU
6. Rio Bravo
7. The Shooting
8. Salvation

Only one I don't like and the others I see as very good to great.

Women will be your undoing, Pépé
I think The Great Silence was liked well enough by most that it could make a run for the top.
I agree. Top 3 and at the worst, Top 5. Definitely a serious contender.

EDIT::: OH CRAP! just seen that the reveal was posted. Now to find out where it all lies.

That's interesting. I think I would go with Jupiter Ascending. The worst movie I've ever seen, it's so bad I love it. The only love story worse than Twilight.
LOL
I'm on the same boat. Terrible, terrible movie - but I've always enjoyed watching it the few times I have and most likely would again.

Liked them all and it was more of trying to place them in the proper order of my recent viewing.
For me, Silence was a Dark Horse that I knew I'd enjoy but surprised myself JUST how much I enjoyed it.
