bumping an old thread to ask... has anyone seen Decade Under the Influence yet? I'm really eager to check this one out. It's the documentary Ted Demme was working on when he passed away. It got strong reviews at Sundance this winter. I'm counting down til IFC starts airing it in August.

with the possible exception of The Muppet Movie (a classic all the same), the interview list for A Decade Under the Influence includes soemone from almost everyone's "favorite" list. Scorsese, Hopper, Jon Voight, Pam Grier (!!!), Altman, Sidney Pollack... it goes on and on.

I can't wait for this doc to come out.

I'm suprised I haven't seen this thread.

Frankly, I still haven't seen all the films I should have seen for this to be my definitive list. You can take from it what you will, keeping in mind that it will change, no doubt, the more films I take in over the years. For a seventeen year old, however, I maintain that my list is still fairly good. Not many teenagers are so psychotic about seeing as much as possible, and quick as possible...

01. Apocalypse Now [1979 | Coppola]
02. Taxi Driver [1976 | Scorsese]
03. The Godfather Part II [1974 | Coppola]
04. Chinatown [1974 | Polanski]
05. Dog Day Afternoon [1975 | Lumet]
06. The Godfather [1972 | Coppola]
07. Le Cercle Rouge [1970 | Melville]
08. Vérités et Mensonges [1975 | Welles]
09. A Clockwork Orange [1971 | Kubrick]
10. Life of Brian [1979 | Jones]

Theres probably some more, can't think of any now though (BTW Rocky isn't one of them!)

SlapShot should be stated somewhere, I know it's not the same caliber as Star Wars but it is a cult movie nonetheless... People are wearing their Charlestown
CHIEFS jersey
everywhere I go... dressed as the Hanson brothers...
Just a thought...
