Help me think of a good website

Tools

I plan on taking the hottest things on the internet today and combining them to create one super popular unstoppable website! It will be porn, movie reviews, poker, and neopets combinded!

Sexy movie loving poki pets dot com!
In it you play as a cute animal character who loves porn and poker. You do different things like write movie reviews and watch movie trailers for poki points that you use to play poker. Of course the cards have nude girls for the face cards and if you win you get access to different pages full of porn that your poki pet can view anytime. After the poker game your pet can look up movies times that match real movie times in their area and go to the Poki Land cinema to view exclusive trailers and interviews and general ads for different movies. They can also read flash reviews for more points. In the flash thing the review will pop up one line at a time with voice over so they can't just scroll to the bottom and click Next. After that they can leave and go to the big bucket o' popcorn where they click and click and click like on Treeloot trying to win poki points whilst viewing banner ads. After acquiring enough poki points you are allowed to play poker for real money and gain access to the sexcam. Every once in a while during the sexcam you have to watch a 30 second ad then you can continue to see the sexcam again. Of course there are other games you can play besides poker but they are all movie related like a Herbie the Lovebug race car game or a Bruce Willis shooting gallery. Things like that.

Wht do you think? Do you have any ideas for combining popular websites like that?

What about a nice website with pictures of the most cute teddybears from all over the world?

Teddy Bears aren't hot right now are they?
How about a teddy bear online diaries/joke-of-the-day/homework helper website? First you pick a teddy bear and name it whatever you like, then it runs away from home in search of it's family and it writes you letters in an online diary format.

Everyday you are emailed a fill-in-the-blanks adventure that you must fill out and send back. This adventure gets emailed to someone else as their teddy bear's diary entry for the day. You get an adventure someone else filled out and that's your bear's diary letter to you. Of course your bear is funny and always throws in a joke or two as well as random things like coloring pages, brain teasers, and science and maths crossword puzzles that the bear must complete in order to continue on it's adventure. To get help and clues there are links to helper websites which are really homework helper type deals.

In order to make sure your bear finds it's family and lives happily ever after you must do things like sign up for Aol if you want it to use a computer, or switch long distance companies if you want it to talk to it's relatives on the phone, or subscribe to a magazine if you want it to learn how to read and stuff like that.

If you want it to be warm you can shop for clothes at Toys'R'Us and enter the redemption code into the website. In this way your bear will get the clothes you buy it. After you complete the game (after I make a lot of money off you) the teddy bear finds it's family and they all come to live with you. Then you can dress them in all the stuff you bought them and play with them and live happily ever after.

I got for good luck my black tooth.
that's actually a decent idea. besides maybe the part about buying clothes phone services and magazines, I don't think people will trust or be suckered into that. Other than that though great idea! Really! .

Why not create a solid website with solid content instead of engaging in tawdry commercialism that exploits trashy ideas to make a quick buck? A tool is only as good as the hand that uses it. The internet is a tool. Some people use it to spread good ideas and perpetuate culture, other people use it to make a quick, exploitative buck any way they can. It all comes down to how you use the tool. For example, I have a website of my own which I use to "publish" content that I have created as a hobby. It is clean and non-commercial and it works really well as a channel for personal artistic self-expression. I have a full-time job to pay the bills, so I'm not trying to profit off my website, but who knows? At some point down the line, I might consider charging for content. But more importantly for me, my website helps me create an online presence that is good publicity for my own talents, skills and abilities. Basically, how you use the medium is determined by the kind of person you are. If you have a positive attitude towards the medium, you make positive use of it and you tend to succeed. If you are cynical and mercenary, you tend to make a hash of it and get nowhere in the end.

I agree with the top, that's why people have homepages.

I'm not cynical. I'm trying to make a buck, that's the point. It doesn't have to be porn, I said what's hot right now. Even a crappy porn site gets tens of thousands of hits a day. Neopets has 40 million members, Texas hold 'em is super hot, and people love movies.

See, my fresh idea is to combine things that are hot to make a super popular website then add inovative ways to make money off it. Pretty much everything else has been done. If you do a google you can find a website about anything you want. If I made a teddy bear website what would be different than the others? What would make mine better? Or here's a better example, if I made a movie website with forums and do hickeys what would make it better than MoFo? Mine wouldn't be black and I would try to have ambience but other than that what could I do to make it better? Add more content till it has the most. Mmm... what else? Not much. It would just be another movie website.

My goal is not to create another website, but to create a new kind of website that does things no one else does. To create a new product that no one else has in order to be the first, only, and best.

Here's my feedback, for what it's worth: your idea for a website will flop miserably. Sorry, no offense intended, but here are the facts: it's way too complex. You're arbitrarily trying to patch together a bunch of unrelated ideas into something that is going to be completely incomprehensible. Here's how you do it on the internet: find a theme and stick with it. Find your niche. Keep it simple. And don't expect to make money from the outset. The internet is primarily a means of sharing ideas. It is intended to be a non-commercial space that has developed a commercial potential. I use it primarily for non-commercial applications. My advice to you--keep your website primarily non-commercial. Down the line, you might add commercially viable content, but what makes a website attractive is the fact that you don't have to pay for it--free content. What makes is useful is publicity. You can also make money off advertizing, once your website carves out a significant presence on the internet. But keep it simple and non-commercial and your site will survive and succeed. Just my personal opinion--you're free to do as you see fit! Good luck, and wishing you all the best with your website!

People who pay for porn are fools, you can easily get free porn.

Not that i look at porn i just happen to know that

Can you say TGP?

lol.
Hmm... maybe you're right. My themes are too unrelated. Related themes would just be another website tho. Hmmm..

Niche market is hard because everything already exists. Even fly fishing lures for sale or shoes that only come in wide. Etc.. Niche market is good tho if I can think of something only I do.

Maybe I can think of a way to charge for free content. The problem with just having a website full of useful information people get for free is that it's time consuming to maintain a website and all you get in return is satisfaction.

I once attended a seminar on creating successful websites, and here's what I learned. You need an original idea--but just go with a single idea. If you crowd or clutter your website, it will turn people off. Go with a single, original theme. Typically, the websites that succeed are the ones related to people's interests--hobby websites--things like that. Start up a website on a theme or subject that you find personally interesting. Do it as a public service--offer up information or content that you think is valuable. Or try to create an online community, like MoFo. Point is--stick with a single theme for a single website. And don't turn it into a commercial venture. Think of it as a website in which you explore a subject of personal interest (which is how I approach my own website) and which might possibly, at some point in time down the line, might also be a means for you to acquire an income (through advertizing or sale of content, etc.), although, frankly, that is not my priority in my own website. Personally, my website is strictly a non-commercial venture--an channel for personal artistic expression. However, that said, I won't rule out the possibility of its commercial application at some point in time.

Alternatively, if you are intent on pursuing this as a commercial venture, go with a full-fledged e-commerce website. There are several online companies that can help you set one up. However, I can't advise you on such websites as I'm no expert on that subject. But even if you're interested in a hard-core e-commerce site, in order to succeed, you need to keep it simple and focus on a single theme, whatever it may be. Come up with something original to sell and devote your website to selling that single thing. Don't clutter your website. That's the key point to remember.

Dude, don't make a website. Make an appointment with Dr. Sexy, MoFo's on-site psychiatrist. How about Thursday at 4?
