My doctor convinced me to give acupuncture a try - said it was covered and that it just might help with some of my physical ailments. Have had a couple of sessions so far, I am intrigued to see what the long-term result is.

This may not work for you (and/or you may want to ask your own doctor), but my mom has really rough reactions to vaccines (the COVID and the flu shot), and her pharmacist advised her to take two Tylenol immediately after getting the injection. She said it made a huge difference.
Got both shots yesterday and 15 hours later this seems to have worked.
I usually wake up feeling like I've been hit by a train but today I feel like I was hit by a kid on a bicycle. A bit sluggish and pain in the arm but not completely useless like I usually am. Thanks, Tak's mom!

When I was in Australia, I did acupuncture in 2013. I wonder how much of it was the meditative part, or placebo (along with relaxing music), but it wouldn't matter to me as long as there was an improvement.

I don't even get any relaxing music, but it still helps

Yay!

Seems my celebration was premature. Couldn't get off the couch all day, temp of 101-102 that won't go away, and my annual attack of the shivers that lasts a solid 30 seconds at a time.

The usual achy muscles never did happen so I'm thankful for that at least

I retract my "YAY" and instead submit a "BOO!".

That elusive hide-and-seek cow is at it again
Spent some time with a neurologist this morning for them to electroshock and needle-probe various nerves in my legs. That was kinda neat!

Sounds painful to me.

Was KINDA, but interesting too. They put some contacts on my foot then touched my leg in about 10 spots. Each spot got about 5 shocks, from barely noticeable to the last one kicking my foot up about 6 inches. That last one kinda smarted, but it was still pretty neat to experience. Maybe in the range of a good, solid static shock in the winter when touching metal.

What was the point if you don’t mind me asking?

I got my dental cleaning yesterday and the dentist said everything looked great. Nothing to worry about, at least as far as my teeth are concerned!

Not at all.
I've had some weird pains in my hips and thigh muscles for several years. The tests were to measure nerve and muscle something or anothers, to see if there is any nerve damage or possible spinal pressure that could be creating this. All checked out fine as far as I can tell. So, back to the drawing board!

I don't actually wear pants.
My back has gotten over the threshold of its ailments at a good time vis I've a knee injury that needs PT, so I am ceasing PT for my back, and starting it for my knee come next week. I have a bad back so it needs extra care some times, although it's fairly fine now. Then about two months ago I injured my right knee, and my primary care believes I might have a torn meniscus, so I'm having PT for that.

Out of curiosity I did some digging on meniscus tears, and apparently sometimes they can heal without surgery, so that's neat. It depends on the amount of damage. I won't proclaim anything on those lines for myself though. I was merely curious about some things and checked stuff out. I am not making a single diagnosis or decision on my own. Admittedly before I saw my primary care I thought I tore my meniscus, but I didn't mention it to her. She formed her own, more professional opinion.

I hate insomnia. Oh yeah. Last year I had four cases of it, and each time it lasted three months.

Nerve induction tests feel weird. My experience with one wasn't as positive as yours. It hurt so bad, which was probably due to how damaged my ulnar nerve was. He kept sending pulses through my arm that made me flinch and wince every time.

Anyway I hope you find out what's wrong with your hips and quads. It can't be comfortable.

I used to do blood, but once a pint wasn’t gonna be forthcoming, I stopped. I never could look at mine & definitely not other people’s.

I have never fainted in my life though, strangely enough, have come close in church of all places.
I’ve never fainted, either, though my mother used to regularly pass out from the intensity of her migraines. Perhaps that’s still to come for me, though my migraines are a bit better now.

I don’t mind the sight of blood at all, mine or other people’s. In fact, I tend to be the calm and collected party when someone gets injured and I do all the bandages and mopping up the blood.
