That Championship Season?

Anyone seen this movie before? I've heard some good things about it in the past and just saw that MSG Network is going to be playing it this Saturday at 10 PM.. Do you guys think its worth watching?

I don't like sports, but I often like sports movies--this is one of the best in examing a group of men who had more success in their youth than ever again in the rest of their lives and what that did to them.

I saw it maybe six months ago and then a week later they aired the TV remake. The first is a lot better. But I didn't think the first was all that good. Too obviously a filmed play and Mitchum isn't at his best. Very talky. I think the play may have won a Pulitzer. Didn't deserve it if it did. I'll check to see if I'm right. It's a masterpiece compared to the remake.
