My friend rented all these murder/crime mystery movies over the weekend. I usually hate these kinds of movies, but when it’s done well and the acting’s good they’re a lot of fun to watch. My favorite was probably Son of Sam. Anyone know of any other good movies I should check out that are like it?

What did you like about Son of Sam? The large number of characters? That it was based on a true story? The style?



The most obvious recommendation is David Fincher's Zodiac (2007), one of the best films of last year. Just a great and engrossing flick. And Richard Brooks' adaptation of In Cold Blood (1967), that one is a must-see classic.

There are a ton of killer related movies like Son of Sam. Everytime I go to the video store it seems like there’s a new serial-killer based movie. Did you see Zodiac? there’s also a new movie based on the Green River Killer coming out that looks promising. Anyone heard anything about it?

Rent the movie "Seven" Great crime movie starring brad bitt, kevin spacey and morgan freedmon. The cast does an amazing job!

Usual Suspects is another good one.
