12 Days of Christmas marathon

maybe there is a thread somewhat like this.....but I was thinking it would be neat for me to watch 12 Christmas movies the 12 days before Christmas this year. Any suggestions?

The only ones that are certainties at this point for me are It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story (i want to actually watch the entire thing for the first time this year)

A Nightmare Before Christmas - wonderful stuff. If there is only one Christmas themed film I watch around Christmas day, it must be this one.

If you want to achieve greatness, stop asking for permission
Here's a list of my own Christmas essentials:

A Christmas Story
It's A Wonderful Life
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Home Alone
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
The Muppet Christmas Carol
Ernest Saves Christmas
Love, Actually
How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000 live action version)
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Scrooged
Woodland Critter Christmas (South Park Season 8, Episode 14)

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
You need more oldies such as the original The Miracle on 34th Street, The Bishop's Wife, A Christmas Carol, Scrooge, Come to the Stable, etc. Joyeux Noel and A Midnight Clear are solid Christmas war films.

Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale
Forget what you may have learned about Santa's origins in the Santa Claus Is Coming To Town tv special. This movie shows that St. Nick started out more as a punishing vigilante whose purpose was rooted in a dark quest for justice against those youngins who ended up on the naughty list. Back then, it was the bad kids who had to "put one foot in front of the other" as they ran like hell if they wanted any chance of escaping Santa's wrath.

Here's a flick for you if you like your festive foreign films to have a bit of an edge (like the kind of edge you might find at the end of a large bladed object). It's about St. Nick out and about on one of his slayrides with a couple of his Black Pete's (though in this movie, why they're called Black has nothin' to do with their skin color).

I have a stack of Christmas movies I watch all year round. Christmas never ends for me. It's the one thing I've never outgrown. I started shopping in August. It's a sickness.

Well, here are a couple, not ten.

A Christmas Carol (1951) starring Alistair Sim. The best of all, I think.

Christmas Vacation (1989) Chevy Chase

The Family Stone (2005) Diana Keaton, Durmot Mulroney

A Christmas Story (1983) Darren McGavin, Peter Billingsley

I also have some of the Rankin/Bass stop action ones from the 60s:

Santa Clause is Comin' To Town

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

How the Grinch Stole Christmas, of course.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

When I was a kid, these cartoons and stop action programs were a HUGE part of the Christmas season. Scouring the TV guide to find out exactly when they were going to be aired, then literally marking them on the calender.

These shows came on 1 time a year, ONCE. If you missed it, that was it. No replays, or marathons. One shot, make it count.

4). Ghost Story (lots of wintery scenes)
5). Planes, Trains & Automobiles
6). The Shop Around the Corner
7). Home Alone
