WHAT IS THIS MOVIE?!

Hi, had a movie scene stuck in my head all day and I can’t think of the title. It’s a military movie. American soldiers are in a foreign country and some of them are mean to one of the natives. One American soldier befriends him. Later on, the American soldiers are hanging out in a tent and a grenade is thrown. The main male character is the closest and everyone is running away. Another solider is expecting the main character to jump on it but he’s too afraid so the other guy jumps on it instead and dies.

That’s all I got, sorry! Appreciate any help!

The" jumping on a grenade" trope is used in numerous movies...

Initially I thought it was Platoon (1988)... but a quick Google search brought up Act Of Valor (2012) as well.
Might be worth looking into.

Casualties of War leapt to mind, but the civilian victim there was a woman.

Just for the hell of it, here's my favorite version of the throwing-oneself-on-the-grenade chestnut:

'Top Secret [1984]' I love that movie.
