I feel like Gerwig has a shot.
It's strange to me that despite being a long-time fan of PTA and life-long fan of del Toro... I kind of want Gerwig to win.

Maybe it's 'cause we're both from Sacramento.



This is a weird aside but I listen to the DGA podcast, which if you are not listening to you should. Anyway, every year they do a roundtable series with the Oscar nominated directors. Just listened to part 1 a couple nights ago and McDonough is on there but not PTA. Strange. Didn't occur to me until reading Swan's post.
