Looking for good romcoms like Pretty Woman, A Good Year

I usually avoid romcoms but I watched and really liked Two Weeks Notice with Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant. They showed great chemistry together.

Maybe the original Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. And I was bowled over by Charade with Hepburn and Cary Grant. Great movie. Oh and Roman Holiday again with Hepburn and Gregory Peck. I guess maybe I'm not doing a very good job of avoiding romcoms.

Barefoot in the Park is my favorite romantic comedy.

Just remembered Guess Who's Coming To Dinner? Not only a flawless romantic comedy, but one of the best social commentaries ever put to screen. A significantly important film.

You might like What If with Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan.
I give this film major props for the sequence where (SORT OF SPOILERS?)

the friends steal their clothes on the beach. It's a very "rom com" set up that should lead to a lot of bantering and "oops I saw you naked" and then maybe sexy times. But instead, both of them are embarrassed and angry, and have no one to direct that at but each other. I especially appreciate that Wallace is just as upset as Chantry, subverting the "sex by any means" horny-lead-guy trope.

While I didn't think the movie was incredible, I did like the way that it played with typical rom-com beats and acknowledged that the supposedly quirky and romantic things in movies might actually be really stressful and off-putting in real life."Forced to share a bed" is an old, old, old romance trope, and I liked seeing a movie show a more realistic take on that kind of situation.

And by taking moments to subvert some of the more well-worn romance tropes, it sort of gets away with the ones that it does employ sincerely.
