Juan Soto to the New York Mets for $765 milion dollars. I wonder if he needs an interpretor?

Interesting fact.

Roger Clemens won 7 Cy Young awards but never threw a no-hitter.

Nolan Ryan threw 7 no-hitters but never won a Cy Young award.

Interesting fact.

Babe Ruth, 159 home runs in his first 674 career games / W - L 35 - 18 in his first 455.0 innings pitched

Shohei Ohtani, 160 home runs his first 674 games / W - L 35 - 19 in his first 455.0 innings pitched.

It's interesting, but it undersells Ruth a lot, since his whole thing wasn't that he hit home runs but that he hit home runs when basically nobody else did. Like, he hit more home runs than entire teams at teams, IIRC.

Well, it shows the first person to do it doesnt necessarily mean the best at it either. Ohtani is young, doesnt seem to be riddled with vices and poor behavior off the field. This is like looking at Babe Ruth if he actually behaved like a healthy man and a professional in his time. If Ohtani wants to get fat, drink, smoke, and chase whores thene he will probably be like what Ruth ended up being. If Ohtani keeps focused and healthy, the second half of their careers is gonna look alot different.

A crash course on all that is Juan Soto.
Im impressed by this channel. The guy has perfect delivery saying alot of info at rapid fire pace.

For those unfamiliar: the announcer from the Major League movies, who was actually a real announcer and a real actor, and genuinely very good at both. One of the absolute legends of the broadcast booth.

Rest in Peace.

"He's gonna need a rocket up his ass to catch that one."

"Ah, I can't find it...the hell with it!"
"Who cares its a rat with wings"

R I.P. I always liked him. While visiting my grandparents in Wisconsin many years ago, I caught some of a Brewers game on the radio and was impressed by how engaging and enthusiastic all his commentary was, which says a lot given how miserable that team was in the early '00s.

He had a great sense of humor, too. Thankfully, we didn't lose him when he was working for the WWE. I mean...

Sabathia in on the first ballot is interesting. Billy Wagner seemed destined for someone lost in the shuffle of past relievers not named Rivera.
