Confused...it's a list of 25
Wait, whaaat?? what a failure I am. It seems I misread what will be the final tally to what I had to submit. I'm sorry

We let Thief submit 100 movies...cause why not?
Thank you, thank you for that special treatment

My decade split is like this:

2010s: 1
2000s: 4
1990s: 6
1980s: 9
1970s: 2
1960s: 2
1950s: 1

And I'm already bothered by not including some 70s stuff. Well, it is what it is.

Wonder how many non-English language fillums will make the countdown? Will it beat the rather paltry six from the 2010 list??

Hmmm, now I got curious and checked. This is the decade breakdown of my list...

1920s - 2
1930s - 3
1940s - 5
1950s - 4
1960s - 7
1970s - 13
1980s - 14
1990s - 19
2000s - 19
2010s - 14
Ok, so I'm gonna dig my head out of my shame and offer my *real* decade breakdown...

1920s - 0
1930s - 1
1940s - 3
1950s - 2
1960s - 2
1970s - 3
1980s - 4
1990s - 5
2000s - 4
2010s - 1

More balanced than I would've thought.

I hate to see all this work go to waste, so I hereby submit Thief's #26-50 as my list. I trust him.
PS- If there's a Jason Voorhees movie in there, just replace it with Final Exam. Thanks.

Oh man, I'm looking at my #26-50 and there's some great stuff there

Since it's going to waste, I hope there is no issue in me posting that chunk of my list.

26. The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
27. Unforgiven (1992)
28. Pulp Fiction (1994)
29. The Third Man (1949)
30. Memento (2000)
31. Eraserhead (1977)
32. Fargo (1996)
33. Persona (1966)
34. Melancholia (2011)
35. Star Wars (1977)
36. The Terminator (1984)
37. The Big Lebowski (1998)
38. Syriana (2005)
39. Cameraperson (2016)
40. Full Metal Jacket (1987)
41. No Country for Old Men (2007)
42. Apocalypse Now (1979)
43. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
44. Hoop Dreams (1994)
45. The Last Laugh (1924)
46. Zodiac (2007)
47. Harakiri (1962)
48. Holy Motors (2012)
49. The Exorcist (1973)
50. On the Waterfront (1954)

I'm more or less happy with my Top 25, but there's some stuff here I would've loved to see represented. Stupid me.

I had two Foreign language films, but I feel good about one making an appearance.

Seriously, that's probably more respectable than my Top 25 would've been. I mean, I wish I'd known you were one of those "Empire is better than Star Wars" people before I committed myself, but what's done is done.

I have zero of Thief's second 25. Wait, "Holy Motors"? One of the worse films I ever saw. Never made it through it.

To each their own...
Seriously? Oh man, I loved it

It's very close to me, almost to the point of being interchangeable. However, things get more controversial when we get to my #3 SW film, which is currently Rogue One

My decade breakdown:

'00s: 2
'90s: 1
'80s: 13
'70s: 6
'60s: 2
'50s:1

Yes, I'm an '80s kid.
The '10s were a great movie decade, but I couldn't find a place for any '10 movies in the top 25. Oh well, maybe next year.

It just must be me because it made zero sense. Admit that some of the visuals were interesting.
I don't think you're meant to "understand" most of what's happening. Here's a link to something I wrote about it a while ago, which is aptly titled "What did I just see?"
