50 Most Underrated Movies

It started with me getting flabbergasted by how low ranked on IMDB and Metacritic some of my favorite movies are. So I decided to create a list celebrating the most Underrated films ever.

Feel free to throw in any favorites of your own.

50. Without a Clue (1988)

Holy Motors has quite a few admirers on this site

48. Vanilla Sky

I thought Vanilla Sky was excellent, a 9/10 from me.

This one is quite good too, 8/10 from me.

47. Enemy

I liked Vanilla Sky too, been years since I last seen it, so need a rewatch...Neat idea for a thread!

The exact order of the list kind of fluctuates with my mood, so don't take the exact rankings too seriously.


You can probably guess by that preamble that we're about to get to some trashier ones. :-)

44. Kind Hearts and Coronets

That was a good picture with an innovative story. I'll say one thing: that ending shocked me more than any picture I'd seen in years...

43. The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

(Yes, it's a weird one, but I like it.)

40. Planes Fire and Rescue


(Far better than the original, and most of the Cars movies too.)

39. Sunshine

Plenty of really good choices so far, with Holy Motors being my favorite.
