Rest in Peace, Tobe Hooper (1943-2017)

You mean me? Kei's cousin?

Tobe Hooper, the legendary director who gave us Poltergeist and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre passed away on August 26, 2017 at 74 years old. He will be sorely missed.

Man, I can't believe this. We're losing too many movie heroes this year. I recently bought Tobe's excellent version of Salem's Lot. Godspeed, Tobe.

Typical B-movie director. The rumour (or has it been proved?) that his directorial credit in Poltergeist was only in name and Spielberg did all the work certainly shows by comparison with his other movies, because it's his best by a mile. I did really enjoy The Funhouse or I'm Dangerous Tonight, though.
