One of my favorite athletes as a kid.. Recently saw the documentary "Maradona" and it's great. I think even a non-soccer/football fan would like it.

I couldn't believe it when I heard the news. Even though it's been expected for years now, when it actually happens you're still unprepared for it.

It might be unfair or even impossible to sum up a persons career (maybe even their life) in just a couple of videos or moments but for me there's four minutes in the summer of 1986 which did that for Diego. I'll post them anyway, but if you're reading this you almost certainly know them already.




Gary Lineker (who for those of you who don't know played against him on that day and won the Golden Boot in that competition) went on to make a documentary years later, which is very good BTW. In this clip they talk about The Hand Of God.



Finally, Lineker's memories of the great man when the news broke.
