1. Mozart - Sonata for Two Pianos
- My nomination. Them two pianos make sweet, sweet love.
2. George Strait - Take Me Back to Tulsa
- I love George Strait and I love that George Strait loves Bob Wills. I know what Waylon said, but that was before King George took the throne of Texas. This is a good time.
3. Wishbone Ash - The King Will Come
- This reminds me how much music from the 60s and 70s I'll never listen to. I just don't have time to find everything I'd like to listen to before I die. I love this type of stuff, I put it on my list of stuff to check out, I look at my list, it's thousands of albums long, I lament.
4. Iron Maiden - 2 Minutes To Midnight
- Maiden is pretty indulgent. I compared them to Kenny Omega to Captain Spaulding, but that reference is probably only one he will get out of this group. The difference is, I find Maiden charming.
5. Gravediggaz - 1-800-Suicide
- Music like this really comes from a specific time and place that seems long gone now. Horrorcore didn't catch on super strong, but it did have a pretty solid following and produce some good stuff until it was eventually ruined. RZA really stands out on this track as being above everybody else on it. Shout out to Cap'n's shout to Flatlinerz.
6. The Warning - Narcisista
- I have a soft spot for drummers who sing. She's no Levon Helm, but who is? Good stuff.
7. Sufjan Stevens - Mystery of Love
- Sufjan loves being understated. I don't necessarily love Sufjan, but I still haven't given him the courtesy of a deep dive. His John Wayne Gacy song is incredible, however.
8. Dead Confederate - The Rat
- With a name like Dead Confederate, I expected so much more. They don't sound like dead Confederates.
9. Def Leppard - Foolin'
- Give me Def Jam over Def Leppard
10. A Day to Remember - The Plot to Bomb the Panhandle
- Not for me.
